To all the people posting ads on the EF Classifieds, please read.

If you are selling a $200 toy used (I don't care if it was once) and want $160 plus shipping, think about this.

Why would someone pay you that much, when you can use a buyout (or other) discount and get it for $140 shipped w/warranty brand new? and have the option to return it. Not to mention use a credit card or points.

I saw someone else selling a $40 item, plus shipping, when you can buy it online new for $30-35 w/free shipping. (not stocked at EF anymore)

Get real people. Your price has to be far enough below the discount price for someone to even consider it. Some won't consider a used toy at all, even though it might be a material that is able to be sterilized.

Also, there is a bit of a trust factor, since some unscrupulous people scammed others out of money in the past.

On top of all that you want cash only, not points. Fair enough, but good luck.

You're not gonna get $70 for that used Pure Wand when you can buy it new for a few bucks more with a guarantee.

Do some research first.

I'm glad you said something about this. I've been curious about the Classifieds since I learned about them and I did think some of the prices were off, but I'm a newbie, so what do I know? It's a really great idea but a lot of people are freaked at the idea of a used toy, even if you can sterilize it. You're not going to seduce those people by taking $10.00 off the list price.
I thought of putting my Cush up for sale, but I've decided to expand my size limits so I kept it. It's nice to know the Classifieds are there if I change my mind, but I don't expect to get much for it. It's just a way to pass on a bit of happiness

Amen. People selling things used out of the box for a $30 discount are ridiculous. We are the savvy ones and I feel like they would have much better luck at ebay.

Thanks for posting this. It's something that has bothered me for a really, really long time (oh like since the inception of the classifieds). Especially when I knew which things were sent as free assignments and what wasn't.

Thanks Trysexual for posting this. I was always thinking the same thing. I will go check it out here and there and I am like wow the prices are just crazy. I will get it off Eden before I do that. Especially with the scamming going on. I actually just got something from someone for the first time but it was after a review I seen and really wanted the product. They offered me a decent price for it but I trust them as well and the person came through. Not saying they all will but I would get from this person again in the future if it is something I really am dying to have.

People can ask what they want for things, no matter how outrageous unless Eden puts a rule into place.
I do think that make-up thing is gross. I mean used sex toys that have been in vaginas and butts is creepy to some people even if it can be sterilized but I've read many magazine articles commenting that it's not hygienic to share make-up tools and make-up, since people dip back in and I doubt anyone washes tools after each use, so they're putting a used brush back into the make-up. I had a girl at work ask to use my Bare Minerals compact and I was like really!? You want to use my makeup puff that I have used, like after I sweated before?! Nasty! Just like sharing bath towels, wash cloths and loofas aren't good.
My friend grabbed my lip balm the other day and put it on and I was a bit grossed out. I won't use someone else's stick of lip balm- blech!

Thanks for putting the reality check out there. People stop looking at the classifieds if everything is overpriced.

For a used toy you need to start the price at least half off list price. EF runs discounts of 25-40% pretty regularly so I would rather wait until there is a sale and get a new product with a warranty. For those things EF no longer stocks, look at other websites and see what they are charging then take half off. Unless of course this is a very hot item that everyone is looking for and is out of stock/discontinued.

I agree Zombirella, I was fairly squicked out by the 'lightly used makeup' thing. And that wasn't a good deal either.
