I would treat real silk as a novelty.

It's actually quite warm and can be stuffy unless it's a deliberately loose and open weave, and doesn't breathe nearly as well as cotton or linen.

Silk charmeuse is pretty boss, aesthetically.... but do you realise how much of a pain silk is to clean ? And I'd have to wonder if bodily fluids might leave permanent stains. I'm sure sheets would have a stain-resistant finish, but they're not ironclad - and it just means more chemicals thrown onto your silk (which negates the charm for me).

And while it resists wrinkles, if you get it wet and it wrinkles, it will hold the wrinkles really nicely, too. Like, when you're laundering them. Line or rack dry and you still might have to iron them. I would shoot myself. Better to leave them to people who can pay to have someone ELSE iron their sheets.

If you've ever seen guys freak out about staining their $100 silk ties... they usually end up mailing them out for special cleaning and hoping for the best.

Cotton in a satin weave, rayon/blend or a high-quality polyester/blend (it does exist) seem more viable for the average person who doesn't have special laundry facilities.

Also, that stuff is like... hundreds of dollars for a bedset. I know EF has luxury products, but carrying $400+ bedsets seems a bit risky to me when they're not really who people think of for expensive sheets.

I vote sexy, but not 100% silk sheets. But I'm unsure if it would really fit in with EF's product and consumer-base over-all.
