For a female I would suggest a clitoral vibrator, or one of the more "traditional" vibrators that can act as a bullet if wanted, but is still big enough to be inserted if wanted. Doc Johnson's Velvet Touch is a good choice for somebody who wants to experiment with toys on their own and isn't sure where to start.

Since I orgasm much easier with a partner, I have to reccommend a dildo. Vibes are too different to the experience of partnered sex to give a similar effect. (Also, I suggest either a Tantus dildo or an Njoy wand)
