Would you like the option to post anonymously on Eden?

Contributor: Badass Badass
If you are anything like me, you have shared Edenfantasys.com with not only your close girlfriends, but your co-workers, friends of friends, and perhaps even family. So, while showering today I had a thought... If I had an embarrassing question I would like the input of the Eden community on, all the real life people I have shown Eden to would see it too! This thought led me to think about people with taboo issues. STD questions, erectile dysfunction questions, people seeking fetish pointers, etc... I bet there would be more interesting/deep/fun conversation if you could post anonymously. Of course, in the scenario I see in my head, the Eden Leaders would still be able to see who posted, just not contributors.
Would you like this option? Do you think it would lead to more interesting conversations on the forum?
And, Eden Leaders, I'm not very informed on techy stuff, is this possible?

You're crazy, this would not lead to more interesting posts!
I have shared Eden with family and friends I would not like sharing all of my fetishes with.

I have, in the past, not posted something because I was scared someone from real life would see it.

No longer being able to be anonymous is why I haven't shared Eden with more of my real life friends.

That isn't possible, Badass!

Traditionally, anonymous posting in communities is a bad idea. It requires heavy moderation and would also require the developers to redesign the forum.

At best, I could set up a system where users email me their questions and I post for them.

I didn't vote but here's my two cents. I don't share my Eden info with anyone except my DH. I wouldn't share with anyone that I wasn't completely open with and ok with them knowing. I feel being anonymous here would allow for some people to be rude or mean or fake. Having my name means I'm who I am and I will be truthful. I know others may not be like this but I am.

Don't you think if the Eden Leads were still able to know who was posting, or even perhaps they had to approve it before it would be posted, that that would cut out the negativity?

Since I am, as many other are, Affiliates, where we try to "promote" eden, I have shared with many people I wouldn't want to know about certain things.

It's very cool that you are proud of you tag name and that you want people to know you are you and are real... But others(especially affiliates) might not feel that way. I think Stormy's concept is best. I does exactly what I wanted, though instead of posting as anonymous, you would be posting though Stormy anonymously.

I think a lot of people feel this way about anonymous posting, it typically turns into flame wars, catty advice, wrong advice...and that kind of thing.

I've always felt that if I invited people to join me on Eden or another site of this nature that it's because I am not afraid of them judging me for liking something or wanting to try something and that it has the potential to encourage them to open dialogue in their own bedrooms.

It's an interesting concept but could turn ugly pretty fast.

All of it would require a rewrite of the forum, while I do have some plans for redesigning things around here, that's just not going to be feasible to take on such a massive project at this time.

But, anyone can send me an email. Or maybe we could work it into the post secret idea I had?

I am an affiliate and have an Eden store. I promote it but not as real life me. I cannot for personal reasons but I still want my Eden friends and community to know what I think and to know they are helping me with my question. The human body and sex shouldn't be an embarrassment but unfortunately in society it is. I feel safe here and want to know who I'm talking to (even though lost screen names aren't real names I still like to see what particular people think about my reviews or posts etc)

I sometimes wish I could post anonymously. There are some things I hesitate or don't post about.

I think many people would talk more freely if they had the option to be annon

You are not asked for your name to be posted publicly, so you are not revealing yourself. I feel like people should own up to their thoughts, ideas, sexuality and all around what they have to say. Or keep it to yourself, but wanting to talk with a mask on is a weird concept to me.

I feel like posting purely anonymously would just lead to a lot of harassment and trolls. They would talk more freely, but it would turn really ugly really quickly.

It would be nice to have linked 'alias' accounts, like accounts that the mods know belong to you but others don't, where points are deactivated and stuff but you can post honestly in case real life friends know about you, but even that would require a lot of moderation and modification. Plus, if it does turn ugly, the mods can punish your actual account, so it's less likely to turn ugly quickly.

The idea that Stormy suggests is interesting, though. Emailing her (or some specific trusted person) with questions and having them post it would be awesome!
