Ambassador / Advanced Reviewer Differences

Contributor: Kayla Kayla
I obviously don't have any interest in joining the Ambassador program (I totally had to open my word processor to figure out how to spell that.) but I'm interested in the differences between the two programs so I can better help out newbies.

I'm aware that the Ambassador program and the Advanced Reviewer program are two separate things - you can't be in both. But how does this work? I've noticed newbies talking about how they're going to "Graduate" from the Ambassador program to become an Advanced Reviewer. Can you switch between the two programs?

I just joined the Ambassador Program (trust me it took spelling it 10000 times I got it right lol). I have my first product coming in the mail as we speak.
From my understanding, I write more of a testimonial in my blog rather than a full review. I can talk about the product, but I can also talk about Eden Fantasys in general, my experience shopping, and sorts. I link back to EF just like a reg. review and EF submits it on the testimonial page.

I also read that you can't be an Ambassador and an Advanced Reviewer, so I am wondering why I had seen on Advanced Reviewers profiles that they are Ambassadors as well?

Hi! I'm Jenn, Eden Fantasys' Off-site Review Program Manager and the manager of the Ambassador Program.

To answer your question, Mistress Kay, there have been a few bloggers who expressed interest in joining the Advanced Reviewer program, after realizing that they need to talk at least a little about sex toys and Eden Fantasys on their website. I told them that they can switch to Advanced, but that they cannot do both, nor can they continually switch between the two. In essence, if you want to be an Advanced Reviewer, and you're already an Ambassador, then you can switch to Advanced, but you can't go back -- and vice versa.

MamaInStilettos, the Ambassador Program option was by default added to all profiles, although obviously Advanced contributors aren't in the program.

I hope this answers your questions -- please let me know if you have any additional ones!

I'd also like to add that anyone is eligible at any time to write a testimonial on their blog, though of course contributors can't be active in both programs -- just one.

On my profile it says I am a member of both however I don't know how that happened.

I am both an Ambassador and an Advanced reviewer.

What this really means is that I can choose an assignment from either program, but I cannot do both at the same time. This is not in addition to being an Advanced Reviewer, it is instead of.

You can BE both at the same time, but you cannot DO both at the same time. Does that make sense..?

Awesome. Thanks for the explanation. I like to be able to explain it to people when they ask. Are there any specific perks that Ambassadors get that Advanced Reviewers don't? (Such as advanced reviewers have Descriptive reviews while Ambassadors wouldn't)

Thanks for your quick replies!

I was also wondering, where I am in the Ambassador Program and do plan to eventually work my way up to an Advanced Reviewer....are we allowed to be a student in the Mentor Program quile still an Ambassador? Obviously when you are graduated, you would have to drop the Ambassador Program...

Annnnnd another question(sorry!lol): The item I receive for the testimonial for in ambassador, after submitting the url and completing the assignment, can I still add a review of it onsite?

Sorry for so many questions....just making sure I don't break the law!

I was wondering about some of these same things too. The info page is great, but it doesn't go into very much detail. It does look like a neat way to be able to receive a product for posting about Eden Fantasy's on my family blog without giving the details that would make some people cringe and unsubscribe.

I am going to assume that yes, we can submit an onsite review of the product we receive after posting a "testimonial" which is what I plan to do so that my review can be voted on instead of just being under the testimonial page. Or, another idea I had was posting a review of the lingerie that I bought, in exchange for the sex toy I was sent for the testimonial... Which means, in a way we can get compensated for free reviews (items we bought and decided to review)

By saying we can't be active in both - does that mean if I become advanced thats it. No product for testimonials at all, or is it like Sir said and that we can perhaps rotate it and do a blog testimonial every 2nd or 3rd month with regular reviews on the other months?

One thing that isn't covered on the info page is the pricing/previous review guidelines for eligible items. Anyone know?

Yes, you can be in the Mentor Program and the Ambassador Program at the same time, since the Mentor Program is a temporary thing that basically gets you ready to be an Advanced reviewer.

And yes, you can submit on-site reviews for products you have received in the Ambassador Program.

Once you become an Advanced reviewer, you will no longer be able to participate in the Ambassador Program, even if you would want to switch things up and do one program one month and one the next. It's best for us to keep the two programs complete separate.

In the Ambassador Program, product selection is limited to anything $50 or less.

You can, however, do your monthly free advanced review "offsite" on your blog by choosing that option when you request your product.

Ok, think that pretty much clears everything up! I don't think I am quite ready for advanced yet so have been holding off on that, maybe soon though! For now I will work on some nice tame posts for my family blog while I have some fun with my toys

I do not understand, then, why I was made an Ambassador when I am already Advanced..? A lot of people were automatically made Ambassadors. Is this to give us the option, or something else..?

It was an unfortunate programming quirk. I'm sorry for the confusion! :/

I was wondering why we were all Ambassadors as well as Advanced reviewers too. Thanks for clearing that up.

I think I understand. One or the other. Pick one. The irony is I have been wanting to do a blog post sharing how much I love EF, and the community and options. I've been wanting to go on and on about how much I love EF. So as an advanced reviewer, I can do that, but without compensation? If I am understanding.

I'm new here, and have only written one (on site) review. I noticed this evening when looking at my profile that I was listed as an ambassador. Any idea how that happened? I don't currently run a blog that pertains to this topic, so I am not reviewing anywhere else at this time. I was planning to go for Advance after I finish class with my mentor. Just curious if there's any explanation for that, thanks in advance!

I think every new reviewer is listed as an ambassador once they put in all their info.
