I don't want to throw stones - but if he has developed a fissure, it's because you (plural) are going too fast. You need to take more time to and use more lube - the old adage is there cannot be too much lube - and if you think you have enough lube - add more!
Until he heals there should be no anal play - even for a good period of time after the pain goes away. Then start with a finger and go from there.
My wife just gave me a mind blowing experience last night using what she calls 'the popper'. It the glass Silenzio - and she's referring to how my anus opens and closes around the wavy texture of the glass - it's amazing - but not a beginner toy.
As a beginner I actually found the small end of the Pure Wand @ just 1" to be very easy to accommodate and the curve gets right to the p-spot.
Don't give up - the pleasure is too intense to by-pass.

Well of course, about going slow and using lubricant. We did get the whole talk about that at the doctor's office. What's happened is he hates feeling the lube drip and he'll have me use less and we don't go fast... it's the texture he likes. This is why I was looking for good, untextured anal toys that we can use.
And I know that we cannot play for a long time but I just got paid and I would like to buy toys now.
I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to these things as I worked at a healthcare clinic specifically for STD's, sexual injuries, pregnancies, etc. We came across fissures a lot. I don't mean this in a rude way, I just mean that I am educated on the issue and I know not to touch him anally for a long time. Our doctor is recommending at least a month and a half but we are giving it 2 months.
