Is it normal to bleed sometimes during anal, and what are the proper precautions to take?

Have you ever bled from any type of anal play? How do you prevent this, and what do you do if it happens? Is it necessary to seek medical attention?

I agree, you should not feel any pain or bleed at all during anal play. This either means that

a) You weren't relaxed enough and you didn't take enough time to stretch yourself out down there. Some people need a lot of foreplay before they're ready to move on to something bigger. Start with a finger for a few minutes, or even wear a small plug for a bit in order to get yourself ready.

b) You were stretched out enough, but you didn't use enough lube. This can cause friction to build up, and this friction can tear the delicate membranes up there. You should always use LOTS of lube with anal play, silicone based if possible. (Don't use silicone lube on non-compatible toys, though)

Be safe, and next time keep these in mind! And most of all, if you're playing with a partner make sure you keep an open line of communication!

No, you should not bleed under normal circumstances. Are you using a good lube? Are you trying to go to big to fast? Do you have a medical condition of some kind? Do you feel any pain during anal play? All these things could contribute to bleeding. You have to 'listen' to your body and stop what you are doing if pain or discomfort is felt. Anal play should NOT hurt.

I have only had a bit of bleeding once and that was from using a toy that was to big for me, I pushed a little to hard and had a small tear. It only bled for a short time.

As far as medical attention goes, I would say if it does not stop with in a day or so it may be a good idea.
