What is the best anal lube to use?

Contributor: Jen&Clint Jen&Clint
Hubby and I bought Anal Lube tonight after reading the reviews on it, only 6 of them really and 5 out of the 6 said it was the best lube to use but when we got home with it I tested some on my finger and it started to gum up so I put a little water on it and it was gone??

I have decided I am am going to give anal a try and was looking for something that wouldn't make me think twice about doing this. I really do not care about price, A damn good lube I will always pay good money for, the only reason I got Anal Lube was because it was all the store carried in anal lubes. I have O'My, can we use that? ( Love the stuff ) What is your favorite anal lube? What is good for a beginner?

Thanks much you guys

I think that Maximus is really great for anal play. Technically, there's no such thing as "anal lube" and "vaginal lube." You can use silicone-based or water-based lubes either vaginally or anally. You should have no problems using O'My anally.

Personally, I really like Maximus for anal play. It's thick, and that's a good thing for anal play. Ideally, you want a lube that's about the same viscosity as hair gel. It makes things less painful and less likely to tear, as well as creating a nice protective layer of lube. It's also water-based, so you can use it with silicone toys, as well as being glycerin-free, so it won't get sticky or contribute to yeast infections if used vaginally.

I would definitely recommend staying away from anything desensitizing and numbing, however. They're really unsafe, and if something was to rip or tear, you would have no way of knowing that something was wrong, because you'd be numb. Plus, if you're actually gonna give anal play a try, you at least want to be able to feel/enjoy the new sensations!

The lube just said Anal Lube by Cal Exotic. This is all new to me so I didn't know if the lubes were any different from regular lubes. Maximus I will look into getting, I have heard so many good things about it.

I second the above. Maximus does the job and so easy to dispense. I use Maximus for almost everything. Enjoy!!

I would recommend Sliquid sassy as it has no parabens. It's also thick. However, if you have no sensitivity to parabens, you could try Maximus as others have suggested.

I don't know if I do have a sensitivity to it, but I do have allergies to a lot of things...I usually do a test on my arm to see if I break out or anything like that. Mine get so bad that the hubby had to take over washing the dishes cause I was going through so many kinds of dish soap just to find one that didn't break me out I failed to find one. I'll look into seeing if I have any problems with any of these lubes.

Thicker lubes are better for anal play with larger toys and penises since the anus tends to "squeegee" off the thinner lubes. Maximus is good, Probe Thick and Rich is good if you're sensitive to chemicals, and I've heard there are a few silicone lubes that are thick enough to work well.

The big things with lube and anal: make sure you're not sensitive to anything in it (try it out first - you'll know if you're sensitive) and make sure you have more than enough (stop and reapply if you think there might only be "enough").

The other important things with anal: go slow. If you just got the lube and haven't done any anal play yet, count on taking about a month to work up to penile-anal intercourse (or equivalently sized dildos). Start off with external stimulation, internal stimulation with a finger or two, and a tapered butt plug. Work up to it and make sure that you trust your partner 150%.

We were out shopping last night looking for a plug but the only one I saw that I really liked the store wanted too much for it. I found many on EF but we don't have a credit card that will work for online shopping hell I can't even call the phone people and bay the bills that way either with this card ( Stupid ) As soon as I get the money up I am going to be getting a wal mart gift card that can be used online.

What butt plugs are good for beginners? I've had my eyes on the bootie for a few weeks now just lack the money to do so at the moment.

You guys are so helpful......Thank you all

Maximus is good, and we like the Climax Bursts Anal as well.

I agree with everyone else that Maximus is good. We recently got the CalEx Anal lube as well and I've only used it for toys so far and I liked it for that. But it is super thick.

Yeah we got the CalEx Anal lube and it was awful, started to gum up and get sticky in no time. Getting it out of the bottle was fun too, I felt like I was trying to get the last bit of ketchup out of the old school glass bottles. I was shacking the hell out of this thing. LOL

I don't have the Bootie, but have heard a lot of good things about it. I do have the Love Pacifier Beginner and it has been a good starter for me. Other plugs you might want to check out are the Little Flirt and the Pure Plugs by njoy. I know the steel toys are expensive, but they're worth it. I just got the Pfun plug, and it's just amazing. I'd start with something smaller than the Pfun at first, but I actually have an easier time getting the Pfun in than more flexible toys. Hope you find one that works for you!

If you don't have toys now, start out with fingers. Start with one (well-lubricated), go slowly and let your anus get used to having something inside it. Start massaging the inside of the anus, and (after a few times of this) when you're comfortable try moving onto a second finger.

Good starter plugs have a narrow tip and a gradual taper. Shoot for something about 1-1/4" - 1-1/2" and take as long as you need working up to getting the whole thing inside. It should never hurt.

I cannot say from experience (for anal use), but the silicone based Gun Oil is incredibly slick, long lasting, and a little goes a long way. It would be a good one to consider.

I was looking at that stuff and even showed my hubby, figured he would get a kick out of that Gun Oil. Well the hunt is on, I have way too many lubes and plugs that I would like to give a try. Thank you guys
