Does "squirting" really enhance the strength of the orgasm? Or do women want to squirt for other reasons?

Contributor: P'Gell P'Gell
I see a lot of posts about squirting. I know some women can do it regularly, some once in a while, some rarely or never.

I am not a squirter, although I can dribble some. (It may be because my glands of Bartholin were removed when I had surgery when I was younger.)

Is the feel of squirting really that amazing? Or do women want to squirt for other reasons? I have nice orgasms most of the time, and don't really think I'm missing much. Even when I "dribble" it feels like a regular blended orgasm.

So, what's the big deal? Does it really feel that much better than a regular orgasm or is it something else?

I've never squirted and I don't think I'm missing anything but cleaning up a mess. But maybe ignorance is bliss.

I am so glad you asked this question P'Gell!! It feels really good when I squirt, but it isn't orgasmic. It's weird. I was just pondering this last night. I can rarely squirt but when I do, it's not at all the same feeling as when I'm having a clitoral orgasm. It's not as satisfying, it's just like my body is releasing pent up fluids...I don't really know how to describe it.

Interesting. That's kind of what I wanted to know.

I have had blended orgasms, where there was a wet spot from me on the bed afterward, and it did feel like a "release" of some sort. I think I may have squirted a few times many years ago, before I had surgery. When my Bartholin glands were removed, it seemed to stop. But, I can still dribble or even gush. For me it doesn't feel different than a regular orgasm. For me a G Spot orgasm by itself doesn't let me feel "finished." I'm still horny, still on edge and feel like I really need to have a "full orgasm." I need either a clitoral orgasm or a blended orgasm to feel satisfied.

Stormy, do you have G Spot Os with no squirting? I am just wondering about this.

Thank you for your input. It was really helpful.

That's exactly how I feel, too!

I do have them with no squirting and that's even still a completely different feeling. A lot of vaginal contractions and a small amount of natural lubricant is released, but it feels as if it's coming from the cervix.

You're welcome! I'm glad I could help and I'm glad you asked this question!

For me I have amazing full body orgasms where I typically do not squirt and smaller feeling but much wetter orgasms where I do.

I'm never 100% sure if it's squirt or pee for me - all I know is that it happens pretty much any time I use a vibe on my clit, and sometimes internally. It feels okay, but it drives me nuts because of the mess it makes. I'd be all too happy if it never happened again.

I've never squirted, and have not been able to have a vaginal orgasm. I've finally been able to achieve climax clitorally, but I'm still trying to find something that helps me achieve climax vaginally as well.

I am a super soaker. I can squirt over my head. Soaking my sheets like dumping a can of pop on them. It is insanely messy, but I got a throe, now. I have to agree with Stormy. It doesn't feel Orgasmic, but more of a release. Like when you have to pee really bad and your dancing all the way to the bathroom. Then when you get there you can't sit down fast enough, but when you release it, it is an awe feeling. That is the feeling I get from squirting.

I too can't feel complete without a full O. I am still horny unless I have one. Squirting doesn't make me feel complete, but not squirting even with a full body O doesn't make me feel complete either. I just love to squirt.

I said "I squirt and it doesn't feel any different, but I like to be able to say I do and show my lovers I can" and "I squirt and don't enjoy it and wish I wouldn't most of the time." I know they're completely different.

Anyway, a little background. I have only had clitoral orgasms so far, and I have had VERY FEW non-squirting orgasms at that. When I do squirt I soak through the towels I lay down in preparation, always, with out fail. It's never just a little, it's always a LOT. I don't think it's sexy. I don't like it. It took me forever to relax and just let it happen cause I felt like I was going to pee. I do like that my husband enjoys it, and I do like doing it for him. He thinks it is the sexiest thing EVER, and really gets off on it. So I will do it for him, and I love his reaction. But during a solo session it's just messy and too time consuming to clean up and prepare for.

I didn't vote because my wife has never actually explained to me what's going on. My observation is that it's more of by-product of a great orgasm than a type of orgasm.

An interesting repercussion is that when she gushes (she does not ejaculate in the males sense) - she becomes so wet, that I have a hard time attaining orgasm. She either gives me a nice HJ or we'll go doggie with her knees together to create additional friction.

I'm going to ask her to see if she has anything to add to the discussion.

I did not know how to vote above, so am just going to post. I am a super soaker. There have been a couple times where I actually hit our electronics that are across the room and our light fixture up on our ceiling. I love my husband's reaction and dislike the mess.

G-spot orgasms are incomplete orgasms for me. I feel supercharged and wired afterwards, even though the orgasm feels really, really good. I can also continue a streak of about 17-22 straight orgasms in a row as long as the stimulus stays constant. The orgasms are more internal and rhythmic but I am left feeling 'unfinished'. I always wondered if it was due to no uterine contractions, I had a hysterectomy at 22. I am now realizing after reading the previous posts that that may not be the situation. I also do not always squirt with G-spot orgasms, as a matter of fact, I squirt only 1/3 of the time.

With clitoral orgasms, I squirt unbelievably. I notice more distance and volume after I have already had a G-spot orgasm, though. I am one of those people who have to really back off during a clitoral orgasm or change all bedding afterwards. Every time. The feeling is not more intense, but is a release and prolongs the feeling of orgasm. It can make my orgasm feel like it is lasting about 4 minutes versus the basic minute or two. And the aftershocks are what makes it worthwhile for me, those can last as long as 6-7 minutes after some of my strongest ones. Also the more 'squirts' I have per session, the stronger they get. To the point where it will overshadow a blended orgasm. And knock me out!!

Blended orgasms still leave me a bit wired feeling, so I always close with straight clitoral for a full on heavy, targeted orgasm. I usually have a minimum of 4-6 orgasms per sexual encounter, though. And it can be different depending on my arousal level and just mood that I am in, sounds strange, but sometimes I am just plain lazy and let my husband control all of it without any toys. Okay--you have just read my new book, sorry to be so long winded, but hope this helps!!

I wouldn't expect it to feel any better. I've always thought the lore surrounding it was the only reason anyone cared, otherwise it just seems inconvenient.

I've always wanted to do it at least once, just to see what it feels like. I don't think it's happened before, even if I occasionally get super wet.

I would like to have the experience just to see what the fuss is about. There is so much I am confused about. I thought squirting was related to g-spot orgasms, but after reading people's experience I guess it's not.

I have a question. Are vaginal orgasms the same thing as g-spot orgasms? If not how is it different?

With a good half hour of gspot play I squirt. For a long time I liked it, mostly because it turns my husband on. However, it feels uncomfortable to me. It actually hurts a bit, not sure why.

I don't feel complete unless I have squirted/gushed! I must have a huge wet spot in order to fell fully complete with getting off. I squirt every time I have sex or a solo session

I am still trying to figure out what exactly causes me to squirt, because for me it seems like it is independent of orgasm. For me I know I need g-spot thrusting with a firm toy like the pure wand. Sometime the squirting will coincide with a g-spot orgasm, but not always. Sometimes the only reason that I know I've squirted is the fact that I am laying in a puddle.

I do agree with what others have said about g-spot orgasms not leaving them feeling finished, and that a clitoral or blended one is neccesary.

I've never had a g-spot orgasm, but I guess I've had mini-gasms? Like waves of intense pleasure that don't last for long. I do squirt when my g-spot is stimulated enough, but squirting and orgasm are completely different. I don't always even know when I squirt.

I've never had a g-spot orgasm without having had a blended orgasm first, except during sex. Squirting doesn't really make my orgasms stronger, but it results in a different feeling of satisfaction. More mental, I believe. Since I typically have squirting orgasms after multiple blended orgasms (I did have one from clitoral stimulation alone once), it has a sense of finality to it. The mess is annoying though...
