But....technically there is if you think of it in the terms of "action and reaction" . The action being the orgasm and reaction being the cumming. LOL...ok Im done rambling....

it's all aesthetic. yelling "Oh GOD! I'M HAVING AN ORGASM!!!" just doesn't sound the same.

LOL, it sounds like something Steve Carrell's character would've yelled in the 40-year old virgin once he was no longer the 40 year-old virgin.

Orgasm could be both the physiological reaction and the personal experience of the physiological reaction. Cumming (while it doesn't sound as refined for polite company) is definitely the personal experience.

I don't think so. Just different vocab. that are more appropriate in different settings.

Now I've got that scene from IT Crowd stuck in my head -- Richmond's girlfriend yelling, "Look at me, I'm having an orgasm," while everyone else scrambles to turn up the stereo.

On another topic, you have the best userpic on all of Eden!

A guy can have an orgasm with out cuming (ejaculating) so for guys I would say yes.

Let's not split hairs here.

To use another cliche, let's call a spade a spade.

Well a guy can cum (ejaculate) without having an orgasm (mind melting.. endorphins releasing etc ) so cumming and having an orgasm aren't always the same thing but generally it's true that both words are "meant" to mean basically the same thing.

Yes, there is, for me at least. My boyfriend can make me cum really easily, which feels amazing, but from what everyone has ever told me about orgasms (which involves shaking so I've heard), I've never had one.
Can someone please pm and tell me what I'm doing wrong if it's supposed to be one and the same? Please?

Yes, both words are generalized to mean the same thing in most cases.

Yah okay it's a weird question, but still a valid one. When I think about it, I envision "coming" as a release of sperm and seminal fluid ('cause hey, I'm a guy and it's what I do). When I consider the word "orgasm" I tend to consider both sexes.

There's 'pre-cum' and other such releases of bodily fluids before an actual release is the way I see it.
