A straight or bisexual question concerning females? Your opinions wanted!

Contributor: Martiniman Martiniman
I had a conversation with an author friend of mine who is a lesbian. We were discussing lesbian erotic stories and premises for a new story. The topic came up of a straight girl letting another girl perform cunnilingus on her. My friend contends that a straight girl would not allow another woman to lick her pussy and if she did, she was bisexual at best.

What is your opinion, would a straight girl allow another girl to lick her pussy or does this mean she's bisexual?

Disclaimer: I'm only talking about the "straight girl" receiving oral from another girl, not giving oral to another girl.

No, if a girl allows another girl to perform cunnilingus on her she's at least bisexual.

I believe you can be straight and still experiment with other girls but I think the key word is experiment. To me experimenting describes a situation in which someone is trying to find out if they're into something or not but doesn't yet know. I liken it to how I identify as queer or gay but even though many years ago I experimented with the opposite sex, I don't say I'm bisexual because that doesn't accurately describe my orientation. To me bisexuality is about more than just trying something out.

Ooh, I messed up and voted wrong. I think receiving oral from another girl wouldn't make a woman bisexual or queer by nature, even if it happened numerous times. I identify as lesbian yet I still have sex with men sometimes. Not often at all, but at times. I've had people try to debate with me about my sexuality because of it, but I think there are more determining factors to sexuality than it just being about who you're open to having sex with.

I know plenty of straight folks who would be considered "hetero-flexible", and plenty of gay people who would be "homo-flexible". But I don't believe in labeling them accordingly against their will, so I go with what they're comfortable with. Does that make sense? I need coffee.

I think people get far too caught up in labels. If a woman identifies as straight, she is straight no matter what she does with whom.

Yes, you can be straight and have someone of the same sex perform on you. I know women and men who have done such.

Totally agree & since I can't say it better, I'll leave it at that.

I think a girl can have someone go down on her and still be straight. I think being bisexual or a lesbian is more about how you feel about other genders, not what you did with them.

I am straight and the idea of doing that with another woman bothers me greatly. However, I don't really think it makes someone bi or a lesbian to experiment with other women.

Yes definitely. I'm straight and I have. Teenage experimentation!

Experimenting is perfectly fine, I would still identify as straight or heteroflexible.

IMO bisexuality includes both erotic and romantic feelings of attraction to other women, not just messing around for the pure sensation.

The terms "Straight", "Bisexual" and "Gay" are just too limited to adequately sum up sexual preference. There are about as many points between straight and gay as there are people. And gender preference is just one dimension among several vital components of human sexuality.

Receiving oral from someone of the same sex "experimentally&q uot; (in other words, tried but not repeated much, if at all) sounds like Kinsey Scale 1.

I think that this question is best answered from the perspective of how you define sexuality. I see it as occurring on a continuum. Everyone is somewhere on the continuum and so identifying as straight does not suddenly remove you from engaging in sexual activities with someone of the same sex. Just like there may be a straight girl who would never do that, there would be a straight girl who would. It does not make you any less straight. I just think it moves you somewhere else on the continuum.

Depends on the person and their views

Experimentation is experimenting...and just that. Someone can experiment and even if they enjoy it, still view themselves as straight because they're not interested in doing it again. Sometimes people do something one time and have fun, but that's the extent of it.

There is nothing wrong with experimentation and it doesn't put you into a certain label.

i agree with all of this. one is able to identify however, and still seek partners outside of their "preferred sex," or gender binary, and still have their sexual orientation stay the same.

I wouldn't allow anyone other than my husband to 'perform' anything on me, but I wouldn't think someone else was a lesbian or bisexual if they were to allow it.

It depends on the person and circumstances, I think. There's a difference between attraction and physical arousal. One leads to the other, but it's not bidirectional.

I'm not really sure, but I'd say if a female eats you out, and you like it, then you're at least bi. lol. Just my thoughts with no scientific evidence behind them.
