I've been debating this in my head for a while and I think I've finally decided that I want to take the plunge and become a cam girl. The only problem is that I don't know where to start! I have a friend who is friends with a bunch of gainer (gainer meaning they like to gain weight, if you didn't know) cam girls and they make really good money. Most of the time, they don't even take their clothes off. They just try on clothes that don't fit and eat food in their bras and panties. I think I'm interested in something like that. Well, not necessarily gaining but a fetish (or fetishes) where I might not have to get completely unclothed (though as a smaller big girl I COULD be a "beginner gainer"). It depends, really. Mostly on the money. I'm looking into possibly turning this into my only career. I don't have a job and I don't have a car, nor do I know how to drive in the first place. Just looked at this and they want 1099 forms for this. Cam contacts and another one called Imlive don't have you do them. It is tax free and out of USA.

I have absolutely no experience with this but I saw your comment about shaving and I just wanted to say that there are LOTS of men that love women that don't shave. There's a bit of a fetish crowd for that (and probably everything else under the sun), so you have NO reason to change anything about yourself!

You might already know this, but just in case, I also wanted to point out the risk of getting recorded and posted on the internet. Just to make sure that you're comfortable with that possibility. That sort of thing never goes away once it's out there and it would be really unfortunate if 10 years from now you weren't expecting your coworkers to find a clip of you...

Thank you for that information! I figured there would be guys who prefer that kind of thing, just like there would be guys who are HAPPY that I'm a smaller plus-sized girls. Not everyone is attracted to skinny people, myself included (at least, they're not my preference). I figured if I'm going to do this job, I want to be happy with it and myself. I don't want to have to change myself when I know there are people who like me for who I am (like my boyfriend!) so I'm glad to hear that. Thank you.

And as for your advice, trust me. I know. My friend who I just told advised me of this possibility, as well. I think I'm okay with it. I've never cared much what people think of me. If they have a problem with it, that's THEIR problem, not mine. If I one day can't get a job because of it, that's okay with me, too, because A. in the future, I'll probably be a housewife, anyway and B. I wouldn't want to work at such a judgmental place in the first place. I think I could have a lot of fun and make decent money working at a place like this. I believe I have a pretty good personality and from what I've read, that's what's important in the long run. I could actually be happy with myself for once and be doing something with my life, even if it's not what I had originally planned for myself (not that it will stop me from becoming a writer).

So I've found out through reading that there are sites which have flat rates and you make the same amount no matter what (i.e. $1.00 a minute) and there are sites that allow you to charge however much you want and you make a percentage of your earnings. For cam girls, which methods have worked better for you? And has working on one site a lot or many sites a little worked better? Thank you!

I think the link I posted before is what they call a "studio", isn't it? Or am I wrong? I was thinking about using My Free Cams, instead. I'm just not sure if I'm what they're looking for since I'm a bigger girl and what not. So, wow. I've been looking at a few cams on MyFreeCams to get some tips and what not and there are girls on there doing shows in the Public Chat without taking people into Private. That's against the rules, from what I've read, and how are they going to make money? I hope that I wouldn't lose money by actually working the site like it's supposed to be because girls are just giving it away for free.

I just messaged you. These sites are not reputable I have been doing them for years and never had a problem with them. I also got paid on time from them and I make big money from them.

One site I am on has flat rates but we don't get charged $1.00 per minute we get 30% of whatever we charge so say if I am at $1.98 per minute I will get 30% of that. But since I have good members I charge $2.80 per minute and get 30% of that.

On another site I charge $1.98 per minute and get 50% of that. Then I charge in another category %2.40 a min and get 50% of that. I work on both sites at one time thru a splitter and it works better. Even if I miss doing both sites a day I make out well.

You have to remember you can't come into any camming site just expecting to make a good deal of money you have to build yourself up to it and getting members as well.

When your new yes they will flock to you because your new but it does not stop there.

This is a lie about them not wanting older girls. I am 35 and I am on here as well. The only thing with this site is the girls do stuff in free for tip more then getting privates thru here. If you ever watch one day go thru the list of girls you will see what I mean. They rather work for tips on this site and sell videos and pics then do a private session with someone even then they want a high tip.

I did not see this post when I posted lol I told ya. Yea it says it is against the rules but they don't care now and they all do it. As long as they are getting their tip goal they can do what they want. I don't operate like that. That is still basically giving shit away for free.

I love Streamate I started on here and had a check in a couple days of starting. This is a really good site. I took a break from it for a bit because of the free live chat. I could not do it because my kids. But I am actually going to start working on here again because I just found daycare for my baby. They pay every week and you can charge what you want and I beleive they pay 35% of what you charge. I told my friend about this site and she makes good money up to 1200-1500 a week. And she is not on all hours a day. She will get on in the am and then take a break and head on at night for a couple of hours.

I also forgot to mention Camcontacts and Imlive are the only two sites who offer friends where you don't have to get naked to make money and you sit and talk with people. NO nudity is allowed of course you will get the members testing u to see if you will get naked but they monitor and I would not do it. They know the rules but they think the girls are stupid. I do mostly these categorys and I make out very well to not have to take my clothes off. Yes I do have some shy girl accounts and glamour but I would rather be in friends.
