Depends on the relationship level, the relationship status, if it's poly, the two people involved.

If it is a "traditional" monogomous committed relationship, then yes, and it is usually a sign that something in the relationship is broken.

It depends on the parameters of the relationship.

It depends on the feelings and boundaries of the two people involved. i would have said yes many years ago--but my hubby and I both agree that it is okay, as long as we do it together. TOGETHER is the key...

For us, it would be cheating, yes. We are in a monogamous relationship and have vowed exclusivity to each other.

I agree it depends on the relationship and the bounds you have set.

I am in between. The way I figure it, if they are chilling with a cam girl or someone online. Then they are just messing around. Now if I found my partner having an online 'thing' with someone we actually know. I would consider that to be wrong.

Yes, it is cheating. If your spouse would walk in and be upset, that is definitely cheating.

I consider it cheating. I also don't approve of my fiance watching cam girls when I'm not around. Of course, I have my reasons that are specific to our relationship. Other people may be completely fine with those things. It all depends on the people involved.

If your partner isn't aware/ok with it then I think it's cheating.

I consider it cheating, but it all depends on the relationship. What I want in a relationship, that would be cheating to me. If it's something that would hurt your partner, it's cheating. Some people, it doesn't matter to them, or they are poly, or any other thing where it's okay to them.

I absolutely think so! It will depend on the type of relationship that you have, but that type of behavior is very personal and if it's something that would hurt your partner, than you shouldn't engage in it!

Depends on what the people in the relationship have set up for boundaries. I wouldn't classify it as cheating.

Unless the couple has previously agreed to allow it, it's probably cheating. There's an exception to every rule, but that's up to the participants.

I come from a heavy online roleplaying background and honestly, as long as it stays in the from of text I've never seen it as cheating. It's no different than reading an erotic story...You're just writing it with someone else.

If it goes to voice/cam though...That's pushing the line.

Only if you're not in an open relationship and didn't discuss with your partner about it before hand.

Just in general its not cheating? It just depends on the rules of your relationship wow people.

I personally don't feel it is, you aren't touching anyone and you are just online fulfilling a fantiscy. To me cyber sex is the same as phone sex, but that's just my opion and how we do things in our marriage.

depends on the couple and your partners feeling on the matter

Contributor: Gdom Gdom
Naturally, it depends on the couple. If you and your partner have talked about it and both of you are comfortable with one or both of you having cybersex with other partners, then it's not cheating (for precisely the same reasons that partners in a consensual open relationship aren't cheating). But if you haven't explicitly or implicitly agreed to that sort of arrangement, then the default understanding is generally going to be that that's cheating. Cheating isn't about having sex with another person; it's about breaking your partner's trust and acting in a way that violates agreed upon expectations of romantic/sexual behavior.

As far as I'm concerned, no, it's no more cheating than calling a phonesex hotline or watching cam girls. If there's no touching going on between these two people, and it's just to aid in solo sessions then I really don't care.

I think it depends what's considered cheating in your relationship.

Personally, I would prefer my partner not to have cybersex with anyone that isn't me, but I can understand why it would be okay or understandable.

You fail to describe your definition of Cybersex. If you are talking about "activity" online with another person, sure it is cheating. If you are speaking of looking at porn or an animated sexual site, heck no, that's not cheating in my book. He can go to porn sites all day long and it's fine, but there better not be some one on one with a girl online. That is cheating to me.

It really depends on the relationship and if it's personally done without partner(s) knowledge, then yes, it is cheating.

Being a product of the internet generation, I consider cybersex cheating. This is primarily because I have started and maintained romantic relationships that were meaningful and real over Internet communication- if that's possible, it is possible for someone to progress from simple cybersex to romance and eventually leaving me.

Depends on the terms of the relationship. In my relationship no, because my husband loves me and he can fuck anyone he wants as long as he's loyal to me

I feel pretty much the same and also if she were investing herself emotionally in it, forming a connection with the person she was cybersexing with.

If not otherwise agreed upon, yes! Any sexual act with another person that is not agreed upon with your partner is cheating...
