Only that someone with my appearance shouldn't be allowed to have it.

What? That's pretty f'ed up of anyone to say!

No one has shamed me about sex, but my mom used to make me feel like my vagina was dirty when I was little. Having sex with men changed that.

Not really. I am a pretty open person and not at all reserved and because of that I have found myself in conversations with others (friends, family, co-workers) pertaining to sex and while I may have a few of them wide eyed and maybe even making a comment about my sexual history I am pretty much hard to shame. I even told a girl who had called me a skank for sleeping around that by that very standard I could easily call her a prudish ice box because she wouldn't do certain things in bed. I then politely added that to each their own and that neither of us are in a position to judge the other.

Not me, per se, but the whole idea was there that sex outside of marriage is shameful, as is masturbation, etc.

I grew up with the teaching that sex is a bad thing. Only whores like it...etc. Not a good thing to teach a child!

I am just glad I was eventually smart enough to know the difference between judgements and reality. And that my hubby was patient enough to wait until I came into my own...

no one bothered to mention it when I was growing up, didn't now wnything about it till I started doing it at 17. Now I tell my kid when she is ready to marry, make damn sure she checks under the hood and takes it for a test drive before she settles for it.

My mom kind of did. She was very open, but she often talked about how she didn't like sex. She would also say "If you decide to have sex, tell me, so that we can protect you. However, I will be very disappointed." Needless to say, I didn't tell her I was sexually active for the longest time.
