Have you seen more or less "adult toystores" in your area in the last year or two?

It's strange. We now have Internet shopping and great sites like EF. I would expect that to totally wipe out the "local sex shop", but, in fact, in this area, we have had five new "adult toy stores"...big, bright, nice ones, with ad's and coupons, open in the last two years! More then that, we have an "adult superstore" going to open on the end of a MALL!!! WOW.

I wonder if sites like this have just made "toy shopping" more acceptable and mainstream?

What is it like where you live?

I think it's about the same number, but I pretty much only shop for them online so I don't pay very close attention to the stores in my area

Chicagoland is a relatively large area, and I've explored relatively little, I'm not a native either. However, the Toy Stores or Adult Book Stores that I have seen seem to all still be in business but no new ones in the last few years either.

Our town has two. One in the heart of downtown and one right outside the main gate to the AF base. We haven't lost either one. The one down town though did move two blocks down so that they could have a bigger store and offer pole dancing classes.

I don't really notice them in my area, but I don't think we've gotten more of them. The few I have noticed over the years are still there as well.

Even the "big" city next door has had a quick drop off in the number of stores they have. However, here the number grows. Not sure why.

I have not seen a real "strip club" in years. About ten in town before, and now one in the next state and one "topless bar" in town is all.

Since the internet makes it so easy, we don't shop brick and mortar stores either.

We have a bunch in NE, Florida. Many have to price match to be competitive. Otherwise, their prices are way to high. They are capitalizing on the folks that want something new and want it that night.
