Help...I can't Climax

Contributor: Lioncub Lioncub
This is causing my sex life to suffer big time. Early 40s female. No matter if I'm solo, toys, spouse, all of the above. I can get to the edge but cannot climax. Any suggestions or ideas? My husband is thinking I don't like sex anymore (we've always had a very good, active sex life). It's aggravating to me to not be able to finish. In the last 6 months it's like I've gone from a squirting fountain to a dried up creek bed. Been to the drs, they've been of no help.

Have you specifically been to a gynaecologist?

Professionally speaking; It can be difficult to determine the underlying cause of orgasmic dysfunction. Women may have difficulty reaching orgasm due to physical, emotional, or psychological factors.

Contributing factors might include:

-older age
-medical conditions, such as diabetes
-a history of gynecological surgeries, such as a hysterectomy
-the use of certain medications, particularly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors(SSRIs) for depression
-cultural or religious beliefs
-shyness
-guilt about enjoying sexual activity
-history of sexual abuse
-mental health conditions, such as depression or anxiety
-stress
-poor self-esteem
-relationship issues, such as unresolved conflicts or lack of trust

Sometimes, a combination of these factors can make achieving an orgasm difficult. The inability to orgasm can lead to distress, which may make it even harder to achieve orgasm in the future.

Dear Lioncup, it's a pity to hear that you've been going through a drought. Thank you for sharing this with the community - that's why we're here for.

Assuming your vast experience with sex toys, I won't even dare to think that you haven't tried everything in your power and all the features we can provide, to eliminate the problem.

I think I will agree with TheToyGuy on the issue being a cluster of factors, and certainly, you being upset about it is another one of those factors. It would be really lovely if you had your husband on your side - maybe, it's an excellent reason for a cozy tête-à-tête dinner - just to share your worries and ask for support. I truly believe if you explain that you are concerned and determined to resolve the problem, your husband will become less critical and will help you through this crisis.

Best of luck.
We are all here for you

I have been to a few different gynos and they can find nothing wrong. No hysterectomy. Very good bill of health overall, other than slightly overweight. Still no answers. Not sure what is going on.
