On line dating is getting more and more popular. I was wondering how many of you have hooked up with someone you may have meet on line and was it through a sex sight or a general dating sight.

Other... I met my guy on a general chat, not one focused on sex or dating...
That being said, I don't consider it "hooking up", I consider it a relationship. I don't think I'd meet someone from online JUST for sex.

I've never been able to do the just sex thing to begin with, so I've never hooked up with anybody at all, let alone somebody I met online. I've made some friends online, but that's about it.

By the way it is site as in website, sort of like a place rather than sight as in having to do with vision.

I've hooked up with a couple women I have met on a sex related site. I have not even tried dating sites since 1997. It didn't work for me then, so I didn't bother keeping up with them at all. But after interacting with the ladies on some sites and eventually getting around to IM chats, I have met a few IRL.

Interesting to read some of your responses. Some of my closest friends are people I only know online (through games or old-school forums, before the dawn of social networking), and a good number of them have met in person and gotten into relationships, engaged or married. So I'm totally on board with the idea, just haven't done it myself.
As for dating/sex sites, I don't have any interest in them for now. For straight dating, I've already got my hands full in-person. I'd like to try dating sites to meet women, but my dating life is just too complicated at the moment.

I know many friends who have met their soul mate online, so I'm not going to judge them. As long as they're happy, who are we to say what's right and what's wrong? I haven't met anyone online, but that's because I met someone before. However, I would be open to it if given the chance... if I am single again.

I met my last 3 boyfriends online! Including my current one =) And had sex with all of them! I've also met some women/men who I discovered a relationship wouldn't work, but sex would =)

Yes, I've hooked up with a couple guys I met on dating sites. Might as well just be sex sites really, because they were all after that anyhow! If you're looking for straight up sex, it's awesome to play on those sites. You'll definitely find it. But no, in my opinion, nothing great seems to come from "dating" sites.
