Is this weird?

Contributor: sexysweetieshan sexysweetieshan
I am a female. I own many vibrating toys. I love to use them for clitoral stimulation. However if any of my toys are used for vaginal penetration (or anal), they have to be turned OFF. For some reason I just don't like the feel of a toy vibrating inside me. It makes me tense up, and it's not comfortable. I use my toys for penetration, and will use a vibrator on the clitoris, but I just can't have a toy ON while inside me. Does anyone else have this problem? Can you explain maybe why I have this problem? Anyone know how to help me enjoy vibration from the inside more?

I had this problem when I first started using sex toys. I think it was just that the vibrations AND the toy being inside were just too much stimulation at the time and it made me physically uncomfortable, like my body just wasn't sure what to do. Fast forward ten years+ and it's no longer an issue, I just took things slowly with myself and eventually really warmed up to the feeling.

And if you don't ever warm up to it, that's OK too. If you enjoy using vibrational toys for clit stimulation and just dildos or turned off toys for penetration, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Whatever works for you is really all that matters.

It doesn't make me feel uncomfortable, but I sometimes just prefer them to be turned off. Especially if I am using them with my husband. He does a lot of thrusting so sometimes the vibrations coupled with the thrusting is kind of distracting so we'll just use them off.

I don't think this is weird at all! Everybody's body works differently - it may be something that you need to get used to or you may just not like it at all. It definitely is a unique sensation and I had to get used to it when I first started out. Like ToriRebel said, whatever works for you is what really matters!

I agree with this. Every person is different. Some like spicy things, some like sweet things, some like neither. It all depends on what makes YOU comfy.

I just thought I was weird or something. It's good to see other people experienced this and that someday I may get over that feeling. I guess I won't worry about it too much then!

I wouldn't really call it a problem... just a personal preference. I'm the same way too, though I didn't really think about it til I saw this post. I like vibes on my clit while inserting a toy vaginally, but I'm so-so on vibrating vaginal toys. They make me feel kind of nauseous and overheated. This isn't a problem 100% of the time, and I can still enjoy vibes in vaginal penetration, I just have to stop every few minutes and take a break or it gets really uncomfortable. I don't know why it happens, I just go along with it And usually, a vibe on my clit distracts me from the discomfort I get when I use a vibe vaginally.

Like Cynthia said, It's a personal preference.
Myself, I prefer the vibrations on my clit and non-vibrating for thrusting. As long as it works for you, I wouldn't call it a problem.

Yeah, when I have something vibrating on my clit too, it doesn't bother me as much. That's cool to find out what I'm feeling is not completely weird. Haha. I've just been hearing a lot of talk about finding your g-spot with vibrating toys, and with the discomfort I feel with vibrating toys being used vaginally, I just didn't think I would ever be able to even try for my g-spot. Which is fine, I just thought it was weird!

I have toys with adjustable vibrations. I don't seem to like anything, high or low inside of me.
