It has been a long tradition for me that when I can't sleep I give myself an orgasm and I fall right to sleep. As a result whenever I orgasm I am immediately tired, my boy friend is the opposite. After an orgasm he is energized and ready to take on the world. So I am curious about others after orgasm habits.

I'm exactly the opposite- I feel energized (but relaxed) and unable to sleep- my partner can't keep his eyes open! Getting myself off would be the last thing I would do to fall asleep!!!!

I actually try to have an orgasm before going to sleep because it makes me fall asleep faster. That said, it doesn't necessarily improve the quality of my sleep, it just makes me go faster.
Also, it depends on the time of day. If I have an orgasm in the middle of the day, I'm not really tired.

98% of our sex use to take place late at night - and we found it a great relaxer. Not only did we fall asleep easier, but got more restful sleep and woke up more refreshed.
Recently we've engaged in more sex earlier in the evening - since its too early to go to sleep - we enjoy the evening together. However the sleep inducing effect is lost. If I'm having a problem I take a 2 mg melatonin and I'm out in about 15 minutes.
