I wouldn't consider it a fetish unless we are talking about porn, or someone who just likes to see it happen. I don't think it's anymore "nasty" than a man ejaculating. It's not pee, and it's something a lot of women chase because a different type of orgasm usually comes with it.
It's something incredible that our bodies can do, that people haven't always known about. It's associated with our g-spot, and can often accompany a g-spot orgasm. I don't know about you but I don't want to just have clitoral orgasms for the rest of my life. I was excited to try it out once I found out about it and have since achieved it myself. Yes it can be messy, but there's nothing nasty about our bodies.

You know, I don't like sex messy so I get that. For me, learning to squirt was fun because it was new but I don't squirt with orgasm.. so it's all the mess and none of the fun? If you or your partner don't personally enjoy it, you can try not to make it a goal, but I don't think it's nasty.
I do envy people who squirt WITH orgasm, though. I'd probably like it a lot more if I could. Sometimes, my body wants to squirt and it's actually uncomfortable or painful, so I see why not everyone would love it.
