I always hate how that one week a month is off limits for sex in my relationship - even with a condom. Now that I got my Mirena IUD, I'm spotting/bleeding almost everyday. My husband hates the idea of having sex when blood is present, but I just don't really care. I don't see why it's such a big deal. What are your thoughts?

My highschool boyfriend was overpoweringly squicked out, and we had to stick to anal during that week. It always made me sad, though, that he felt like "I" wasn't clean enough to have sex with.
I haven't had a partner turn up his nose since the first, though. I always tell them first, something like "so just so you've got advance warning, I'm on my period---but that's not going to get in our way, is it?" the first time with a partner, and then if they were at all unsure they know what the "right" answer is---but if someone was to be really against it (like my high school boyfriend was) he'd still have the opportunity to say no. Although, to be honest, after putting up with no vaginal sex for a week for more than two years in high school---if a guy wasn't down with sex on my period, I would probably find someone else to sleep with. I don't need to put up with someone implying that I'm "dirty."
Luckily everybody but the first one has been more than willing.

I'm in the same boat as Kindred's wife. I'm weirded out by it a bit, and my boyfriend totally doesn't care. He's constantly askin me, "How much are you bleeding? Can we have sex?" I'm like, back off, buddy!

I'm OTR right now. We got it on last night and this morning. We just lay down a maroon king size sheet, folded and a maroon towel over that. If it gets messy, we just get in the shower afterward.
FTR, we find that if he "plugs me up" with a dildo or a penetrative vibrator when going down, there is very little blood and stuff to deal with. Then we keep Eden Wipes on hand, if we're too tired to get into the shower until morning.

I did buy some Soft Cup menstrual cups and wore one for the first time yesterday during the day. They say on the package you can wear them during sex. Honestly, I can't see how he'd get in, the things take up a lot of room. I have no idea where his penis would go. And toys? I don't think that would work with the Soft Cup. But, I've heard of people using them.

Mine is about to be here now. Thank goodness for anal. My honey will only do anal sex when I am on my period. Makes me so mad! I am horny as hell, when it is that time. Even more than I usually am. WE often do have sex when she is on her period . Usually toward the end when its been a few days(anyone else notice a few days without can feel like weeks?) But we have done it a few times during her lighter days. Oddly enough i will usually really want to go down on her just as her period starts mind you this is usually before ive been told that she is starting.

My boyfriend does not care about it at all. My previous partners had refused to do anything during that week (I wasn't in to anal at that point) and I just assumed that it was typical. My current boyfriend is the one who suggested it and I was just worried about making a mess. We just avoid the 1st full day because that is when it is the heaviest.

I won't allow any form of vaginal penetration on my period, it's disgusting. I can't stand the smell of it, and I don't expect him to if I can't. I have the cup, anyway. You can't penetrate with it in, but there are other ways to have sex and he's more than willing to oblige me with those. (besides, dry humping like horny teenagers can be fun sometimes)

I personally have no problems with it. I know many women who are a lot more sensitive during their period which can result in a mind blowing orgasm. My hubby on the other hand finds it extremely disgusting and in no way is he going there.

I don't mind doing it, but my wife won't have it. I really don't understand why. She is really horny leading up to her period, but then she wants nothing to do with it. I just call it extra lubrication. After her 3rd day, we sometimes do it in the shower, but that is it.

We've had period sex just once: there'd been almost nothing in my menstrual cup that day and since he was leaving town the next, we did it. I was mortified afterward when he was cleaning up and noticed some blood, but he didn't care. The hindrance to period sex will probably be me and my self-awareness.

The cleanup afterwards is more of a bother during that time of the month but other than that, there's little to stop me from engaging on sex with my partner. He's not grossed out by menstrual fluid and neither am I. We tried abstaining from sex for the length of my period when we were together once and it was awful.
Once I get past the pain of my menstrual cramps, I'm good to go!
