You can. It's more difficult perhaps, but you can. Best to always be careful and use some form of contraception.

It doesn't seem likely but you can.

Yes, it is possible because your body can ovulate randomly, its not always a perfect science as to when you will ovulate. For me, I can vary with ovulation - from day 16 to 22 so my cycles are 27 to 32 days long usually and actually got pregnant early in my cycle (found out I was pg at cycle day 11) but that resulted in a tubal pregnancy and was probably a fluke caused by stress, but who knows. Derailed there but the answer is yes, it CAN happen so if you are worried then make sure you protect yourself!

Natural family planning is nice in theory, but I have yet to know of a couple that didn't get pregnant while doing it at some point. Myself included.

At best it is good if you are open to a whoops baby, if you really don't want to get pregnant I would go with something else.

It's said you can get pregnant no matter when you have sex...sperm is capable of surviving a few days in the vagina and in extreme cases a week or more

Haha, this reminds me of my parents' friends. They were devout Catholics and used the natural family planning method after getting married. After having 3 kids in 3 years, they concluded that the only thing they could plan on was getting pregnant every 12 months.

Tracking doesn't seem that reliable from what I've heard, but people here have used and it it worked for them so... :shrugs: It's an individuals decision. I wouldn't rely on it, and you can get pregnant on your period.

Sperm can stay in you for days and days so no matter when you have sex you always have the possibility to get pregnant.

What if it's not actually your period and your just spotting?

Even if it is your period, you can still get pregnant.

You're right to be skeptical. My advice to those people:

Get on some REAL BC.

This post sums it up.

Use protection of some sort if you don't want to get pregnant. If you want to get pregnant, some people have had success with tracking ovulation among other things. There is a wealth of information about it, just google it.

You can NEVER conceive a child while on your period. There are hormones in your body during menstruation that prevent ovulation, therefore preventing conception. HOWEVER, you can get pregnant as a result of sex during your period. Sperm can live in your body up to 5 days. If you have sex on the last few days of your period and are one of the unlucky women that have short cycles, it is possible. Highly unlikely, but possible. ETA It's also ridiculous to say "you can always get pregnant." That's far from true. Every woman has a 5-6 day window(depending on exact length of sperm life and length of time egg is viable) during which sex can result in pregnancy. Other than those days it is impossible for a woman to get pregnant.

Also no reason to be skeptical about ovulation tracking. It's much better to use it when you trying to get pregnant, rather than attempting to use it to keep from getting pregnant, it does work.

Tracking ovulation does not require the help of a doctor. It's quite easy to do all on your own.

No it can not. Ovulation and menstruation cannot happen at the same time, there are hormones to prevent it.

I truly doubt you got pregnant that early in your cycle. Probably what happened is you got pregnant the month before and the bleeding was a result of the tubal pregnancy.

Yes you can. The only times during the month where you're considerably LESS likely (not can't) to get pregnant are a small span of 2 days after you're finished menstruating.
