Some women squirt during any kind of orgasm. Some women can only squirt through g-spot, some squirt easiest through clitoral stimulation only.
I think the common thought is that if you have never squirted before, you need g-spot stimulation in order to make it happen. After you can teach yourself that, you may not be able to control when you squirt.
I personally haven't squirted during g-spot stimulation. The only time it happened was when I had a clitoral orgasm, switch to g-spot stimulation for quite a while, then back to clitoral stimulation. After I got off for the second time I squirted a tiny little bit. Hasn't happened since.
