I prefer silicone but it can be stiff. I've found that the Tantus supersoft silicone ring gives a little more, although it won't give as much as the TPR. Here's my review.

If I had near accidents I'd avoid metal - silicone and other stretchy materials are much easier to remove if they become too tight than metal is.
