I think if you are in a relationship that has some length to it that it would be ok to bring the topic up in a non-bedroom conversation and see if it is something that your partner would be interested in. They might be all for it and then you are good to go. They may have never considered it but bringing up your interest might get them thinking about it. It might be an act that they really don't want to do but they want to make you happy and that might work out in the end. Don't surprise your partner with it in bed or give them little to zero heads-up on it. I also think that if the relationship has just started it might be a little early to bring up. Hope this helps.
