Bisexuality Ignorance

Why is it that if you're bisexual, and your friends find out, they automatically think that you are attracted to them? Just because someone is gay doesn't mean that they are attracted to everyone. Using this same logic, every straight woman has a crush on every straight man. I have very particular taste in both sexes, like anyone of any sexuality does, and it's really just offensive to me for them to think that I must be attracted to them just because I like both men and women. My 'friends' just need to stop inflating their own egos and suck up their pride. I just don't understand how this level of ignorance still exists.

I don't get it either. Being pan doesn't make me sexually attracted to every person I meet, and it's a bit annoying when people assume that.

Exactly. Don't people see the logical fallacies in their conclusions?

I've had the same problem... Unfortunately for the people that make that assumption, I believe a little ego-crushing is good for you now and then and I wasn't afraid to tell them that I actually find them unattractive. (I'm a bad person like that.)

I know exactly what you mean. When my best friend found out I was attracted to both men and women she automatically thought I was attracted to her and that I secretly "wanted her" Ugh! so frustrating.

Oh no, I wish I had the courage to say that.
Good for you!

This has been the case with me for so many friends of mine.
What gives?
Everyone has standards.
