Worst prejudice you've ever encountered?

I hear people say terrible things about the LGBT community far too often. What's the worst you've heard/seen that's been directly related to you?

I have never been personally affected by prejudice when it comes to anything related to the LGBT community.

I have, however, experienced prejudice when it comes to the age difference between my husband and myself.

When I was in high school, my girlfriend was pushed into lockers and called mean things. I was teased too, books thrown out of my hands, shoved into things, etc. I was teased more for wearing a dog collar then I was for being bisexual.

Lesbians insulting/refusing to date bisexuals is by far an overlooked problem.

I definitely agree. There is nothing more unattractive when a girl you're flirting with is taking a proverbial shit all over bi/pan/queer-identifie d people.

As for me personally, I've had groups of men follow me in their car or on foot, calling me a dyke, driving excessively too close to me so that I think they'll hit me. I get a lot of bullshit for having a rainbow heart on my car (even though it's right next to my roller derby sticker, for fuck's sake). Straight guys at clubs have followed me down the block, saying they'll "fix me." I could go on forever.

I havent personally had to deal with much. I was always closeted except with a friend I experimented with so I didnt have to face much hate for my sexuality. I do recall horrible high school memories of the only transgender student being teased, yelled at, having things like apples thrown at him. People would often stare at the gay kids and make fun of them, assume horrible stereotypes. The Worst I've ever had to deal with myself was probably random kids trying to pick on me getting in me face and calling me a faggot etc etc. These days I am still closeted but wear a gay pride bracelet on my wrist, I havent ran into much trouble here in california but I do hear people saying hateful things about gays in conversations

The main reason I've never come out as bi to my mother, who is in general very accepting of gays and transgendered people, is because she has made comments about how "people who claim to be bisexual are just confused" and they are either straight or gay. Bullshit.
