I did until I was 15 and I got a retainer, which gave me a slight lisp, and everyone assumed I was mocking my gay friends.

I think it just feeds into a stereotype and could be seen as a way to "out" yourself without admitting it...or to make other people think you're gay and you're not...

Don't know about the lisp, but the obviously gay affectations can be hot. As long as it balanced with masculinity in other ways. I used to think that I didn't like femme guys, but now I realize its not a deal-breaker either way. If a guy is femme, I can love him for it, but its not like I miss it when its not there. Sometimes. As JR said above, being obviously gay is a convenient way to out yourself.

Those are attributes that have nothing to do with one's personality. So no, not really based upon that do I like a person. I like a person based on how they treat others and how they feel about things.

It's okay...I've noticed a lot of my gay male friends did it as part of their coming out, but not all of them kept the lisp over time.
