What are your thoughts on gay marriage? Should it happen/be allowed? Or is civil union better? I personally think marriage should be separated from state unions entirely and people should be required to have a state union and then if they are religious they can also have a marriage ceremony with their church or whatever.

Religion does not own the word marriage, nor do they have a right to claim it. The issue is not whether a same sex couple can marry, the question is do religious rights trump human rights. I say hell no! We are all human, but not all of us are religious. Religion is a personal choice, not a license too dictate who you can love and marry. Religion is an idividuals right to restrict themselves and when they try to restrict others, it amounts to oppression. This is why we left Europe 250 years ago.
The idea that religion is allowed to preach and teach hate is an affront to our freedom.
Marry who you love!

i agree with you entirely. separation of church/state is necessary for this to be compromised happily, i believe3.

civil unions do not share all the rights marriage do. marriage should be between to grown people who love eachother. what we have right now in america is segregation.
