I think the only straight people I know are relatives. Everyone else is some value of queer.

I live in a small town way up north, I know of other gay people but don't know them. I don't really bother with seeking out people based on who they sleep with.

Well, I like to think of myself as heterosexual with homosexual tendencies sometimes, (irrelevant, I know), but I have about 2 or 3 gay friends, and I know about 8 or 9 queer folk off the top of my head. There are more, I just can't think of their faces for the time being.

I hang out a lot in my college's lgbtPRIDE group, and the sex-positive women's center. So I know queer of all spectrum. :]

Almost everyone I am friends with is queer, or doesn't care about their sexual orientation.

Heavens. We make fun for one of my friends for being our token straight girl, there for diversity purposes.

I made friends at my college mainly by going to events at our Queer Resource Center, so most of my friends are queer. I like it, though my straight friends are lovely, too.

Apart from a few coworkers (with whom I rarely interact) and parts of my family (ditto), just about everyone I know is queer in some fashion or another. Everyone I care about on a deeply personal level is queer.

The word queer has been used in social, political, academic, and many other neutral-to-positive contexts for at least the last thirty years. Not everyone likes it, and not everyone has to like it, but it's by no means so offensive that only rednecks use it/nobody should use it. If someone wants to use the word queer to describe themselves or refer to the LGBTQIA* community as a whole, that's completely and totally acceptable (provided they are also in the community) and their use of the word should not be policed.

The majority of my closer friends are queer in one way or another, as is my mom! Even some of my coworkers are, though I'm not out to them, but it's still good to know.

To those who think you don't know any queer people: You know more than you think you do. You just haven't proven yourself safe enough and trustworthy enough for them to tell you.

The vast majority of my friendgroup is queer. I'm usually surprised to discover somebody identifies as straight.

I chose "I know a hand full of queer people" because it best fit. But really, I know a LOT. But a handful of my friends are, they rest are acquaintances that I get along with but don't hang out with enough for me to classify as friends. I don't have any problem with them and we say hi and all while out at the bar, but don't really hang out other than that. Then again, I don't really hang out other than that with many people in general. lol. But yeah, I guess that one's most fitting. I guess I could have selected most since majority of my friends from school and all are Bi, but still.

And yeah, I would constantly forget straight people exist if they weren't so busy trying to take away my rights. All of my friends are queer. Most of them are also trans*.

My best friend from high school 8 years ago is. I love having him to talk to as a friend, such a different view of the world and we both like share our thoughts about sexuality. He's even helped out in my relationship!

I almost clicked the 'straight people?' answer, because generally most of the people we hang out with are some sort of gay. but we do also have a lot of straight friends we don't see as often.
