women who date women: dates

Contributor: Roz W Roz W
Women who date women: what kind of dates do you like to go on? I've tended to go more low-key (almost always seems to start out with coffee/walking around a nice area).

It's also something of a stereotype that women tend to settle down quickly, but do you find it to be true for you? I find myself favoring the whole "nice dinner at home" idea as being more romantic as well as less stressful.

Coffee is a classic queer-girl stereotype. I like going to plays and things.

Coffees are the best dates because you can actually get to know someone but don't feel obligated to make it last hours if it isn't going so well. As for settling down, I'm the exact opposite of that. I like to take my sweet old time with things.

Usually coffee or lunch as a first date. Dinner at a nice, but not too nice restaurant. Maybe a few of those. I did appetizers at a lounge with a guitar player/singer playing after once. That was nice. Got to talk over drinks and appetizers but also got to enjoy the music and not have to keep up conversation the whole time. I detest movies as dates. But once I've been on two or three dates with a girl, I like a theater show with dessert or coffee afterwards. I've done the quick to settle down thing but I'm trying to break the trend and take it slow lately. I haven't moved in with any of the last 4 people I've dated. Of course, they've still all ended horribly so maybe my strategy isn't so good. I'm currently just starting to date someone new. It's still in the early stages but we're taking it super slow.

I date women just the same as I'd date men. Start with a movie or some small adventure and then do dinner. Then the dates have to get more exciting and and new. I don't just do dinner and a movie all the time. I try to take things slower with a women bc of the stereo type and how true they can be about lesbians moving too fast.

hmm i dunno but i hate restaurants on the basis that i'm allergic to everything and a picky eater besides. that's nothing to do with being gay though that's just to do with being a weirdo

I like low-key dates like coffee or lunch together.

It is a stereotype to settle down quickly, I find that my relationships do move faster with women...
