Harness Adjustment

Contributor: Voir Voir
Okay so for packing harnasses, most of those I've seen that go around the waist (which is what I'd prefer) don't come small enough for me. Does anyone have any tips for adjusting the size? Such as trimming and sewing? Or are most made from material that is unable to be adjusted?

I found a brief tutorial for how to make a home-made harness for temporary use until one can be afforded but I'd like to know if it's possible to alter one seeing as I don't really have any undergarments that could be cut up to make a decent packing harness. x_x

If it's a material like leather, you can have additional holes punched into the adjustment straps. Alternatively, the RodeoH underwear style harnesses size as small as 24".

Yeah i check those :3 But they'd be kinda inconvenient for daily wear ;0
I'll probably look into leather though seeing as that seems a lot easier than attempting to cut, re-size and sew something... given my utter inability to sew anything decently heh

My first harness was a wide cotton shoelace that I tied in a way that I could adjust the waistline. It worked damn well!

I think the peecock harness is easy to adjust to fit you and also easy to recreate if you don't want to buy it. That's about all I can offer, I usually pack with underwear (either by adding a little packer compartment myself or buying underwear made for packing) If you're interested you should check out Tranzwear, the sports boxer briefs are super comfy and my favorite thing to pack with now.

Thanks for the info >8] will look into Tranzwear. Not really opposed to buying so much as being economic as possible about things at the moment.

I've always felt like the "around the waist" ones like the Mr. Right packing strap would sit really weird and ride up.

So far, I just plop it in underwear (briefs) - nothing else. If it was for sports or swimming, I'd think a jock-strap would work and be really inexpensive. You can get the kind that's just a soft hammock instead of a hilarious hard shield.

You can also throw it in a small sock or something and attach that to underwear, if the underwear you have lets it move around too much.

Hmmm yeah I didn't think about them riding up, well for those that have the straps that go between and around the thighs. I also don't have briefs to use because I've always favored boxers xD briefs may come into a new purchase (thank the uhhh monopolies for Walmart and it's nice low prices on Hanes I guess xD)

Do you know if it would work for Boxer-briefs (the fitted boxers) ? Have you ever worn them to know if it'd just fall out or be too loose?

Those other ideas sound good too... I've never seen those with a shield xD I envision something with what looks like a cup (like they use in uhh baseball i think?) attacked to the front.

I've never tried boxer-briefs, but I'm not sure if they'd work. Briefs have the elastic at the legs, and I think that helps a lot to hold it in.

I have a jock-strap that I bought for my Clockwork Orange costume - after taking the hard part out, it's just a sack - and they make ones without a hard part at all.

I would be careful about not using a harness if you tend to wear boxer briefs because they trend to stretch out during the day. Nobody wants their junk falling out!

Either the black cat harness or the cherry jaguar harness.
