There are many guides on youtube so I'd suggest that firstly, but the main idea is to poke a hole through the shaft using a heated screwdriver or something (careful!) and then quickly run that under cold water. Then, put some tubing (found at a hardware store) through the hole and connect whatever kind of receptacle you like (medicine spoon, baby bottle nipple, etc.).

I've heard that putting it in cold water and letting it sit for a while is better.
Also, one may need to cut a line down the tubing (lengthways) if you can't find small enough tubing.
