Do you HAVE to go to therapy to get a script for Testosterone? And if so, how long did it take you to get your script?

I am pre-T, pre-everything really, just waiting to get into the nearest gender clinic! However, based on what I've read, it does seem that being evaluated by professionals at a gender clinic and seeing an endocrinologist are needed stepping stones.

However, this is just based on some things I've read, not sure how accurate it is. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

I didn't go to therapy for testosterone. I got my T through informed consent and this took about 3 months (pretty much standard). Therapy is not ALWAYS required, but it's highly recommended.

I did 3 months of therapy. It really depends on where you live too and the doctor's protocol

When I first started T, I bought it off of a foreign website. Recently I went back to therapy and got a prescription for T. I would HIGHLY recommend going through a therapist if it's possible for you, they really help you look at yourself and make sure that it's the right course for you. Self discovery is so incredibly important for transfolk, but having a second opinion from a therapist is really helpful. They'll also be able to answer any questions you have, my therapist answered things for me that I could find NOwhere online, I don't regret going to her in the least.
