Personally though, thinking of myself as a gay guy I know I would like topping but I would also like bottoming too, so I don't see anything wrong with being penetrated. And the gay cisguys I know say they would use a vagina if they had the option of that or their butt because they could avoid the preparation and sometimes discomfort.

Not all guys would agree, but looking at it that way may help.

There's not strict set of normal/abnormal rules around what people like sexually, regardless of their gender. I'm genderqueer and have some dysphoria issues around penetration (though I'd love to get rid of them), but liking penetration as an FTM is totally understandable and not weird at all.
