Walmart, Love it or Hate it?

So I am sure my input is desired on this....

Walmart in my opinion sucks.

Why... Sam Walton who founded Walmart (Hence the Wal) prided himself on this products and employees being American.

He wanted Walmart to be a good symbol of America. After the torch was passed from Sam Walton to the next generation it all went straight to shit.

Why? The concentration of being American, selling American and benefiting America shifted to being all about the all mighty dollar. Now it is all about the lowest bidder regardless of where it comes or the quality.

Employees are taken advantage of(In terms of their benefits)paid low wages and told if you don't like it work some place else.

Sam Waltons, dream with Walmart was to make America better by providing it with jobs and goods at low prices.

Now the monster that is Walmart eats smaller companies because it drops its prices so low it cant compete and when the smaller businesses finally shut down the expand their store or build a brand new one. (When the tire shop and grocery store cant stay open anymore its Mega Walmart time with a grocery store and auto center inside of it.)

They dictate prices to farmers of what they will get pay (Should be the farmers setting the price) and if they don't take that deal Waldoworld wont buy it at all and the goods rot unless they are able to sell that large quantity of goods to another big box store. Its your classic rock and hard place story.

Oh and since I love giving President Clinton a good ribbing....

He took us all out of debt! Isn't that great! Which caused jobs and products to shift out of this country over seas because it was simply cheaper.
We have become a country that makes very little and lives on services.

True story... My favorite hardware store is going to eventually be sucked dry. And the older gentleman that runs it who always has a great smile and knows about everything in every isle is going to have to sell his inventory and what probably was going to be his retirement for much less than he hoped for.

That store has been ran by generations of his relatives. Now its going to go under for poorly made Chinese products that people will gladly pay less for then something American made with quality.

Is it Walmarts fault?.... Certainly not. It is ours for allowing this to happen without the proper regulation. Unregulated free enterprise and capitalism is what created this monster. The all-mighty dollar.

I am all for capitalism and free enterprise and little regulation of both but in this instance it seems to have created something of a monopoly in small towns.

Actually IT Guy, you and I agree on several points, however, President Clinton wasn't the only nor the first to either aid in nor establish outsourcing. Both major political parties have had a hand in it.

Also, I feel Walmart is to blame for the way it steals, excuse me, acquires its items for resale. We won't discuss the way the company has treated several of its employees. A simple Google search can solve that problem.

As for the sex toys, I mean something that is actually marketed to adults for the express purpose of sex. You know something Eden would sell. For the record, I actually use the second Hitachi wand I bought for its intended purpose. My partner has an older aka shitty mattress and sometimes I wake up sore and stiff . less

I thoroughly despise them. Number one reason: there is always a mother with at least 3+ kids in every other isle, 2 of which are crying , while she is screaming how she is going to beat the "Ass" of the other. It goes right through me and I find myself counting to 10 before I am giving them the option of having THEIR ass beat down just for talking to kids that way.

Then, you have the hooker-wear that you would normally see on the street corner. Of course, it's usually on a body that should not be wearing the 'less is more' approach. That's always pretty. Now, I'm not saying big can't be beautiful--because it is. You just have to respect your body type and dress accordingly. I personally don't think any lady should run around dressed like a hoooker. That's just me. You can be smoking hot & sexy without having your ass and tots hanging out.

We actually have them all over the place and they are always pretty packed. less

Would you rather have these types in your local dept or grocery store instead. If no Wal Mart, where would they shop ?

Actually in our area, I have not seen these types of people.

There a market for all types of people. People have a choice of where to shop.

Good old USA, though most stuff including EF stuff made in China.

Anyway, we neither love it or hate WM. Where we used to live, no WM's. Here there are quite a few. Our fav is Amazon and Costco ! less
