Ok you obviously don't understand so let me put it this way. Do you walk into Kohls and make an announcement that Target is having a great sale on the same things? No. It's not appropriate.

Because you obviously posted only to get people to click on your affiliate link and, as newme said, are linking to a competitor's site? There's a fine line between excited/eager and trolling.

Eden Fantasy's the store and the forum/community/review s program are not one in the same. If you disagree, make use of your keyboard and convince me other wise.

Actually DP, the community forum and review program are very much a part of Eden Fantasys as a whole. Eden Fantasys wants to provide a place where our customers and contributors can discuss most anything, however, promoting a direct competitor is not appropriate.

I didn't realize it was an affiliate link, but now that I do -- yeah, this is not the place.

Yeah, without the affiliate link it could have been okay if it was worded differently. For example, mentioning that Stockroom has an awesome sale on things you can't find here on EF for the holidays. That would have been fine I think.

First, thank you to everyone who flagged this thread. Your feelings were right.

We will NOT tolerate affiliate marketing of any kind on the forums. This is not the place for people to post and make money. That is spamming. It might seem like it's innocent enough to post about sales and put an affiliate link instead of a straight link, but it's unacceptable here. No one on the forums should have to sift through what amounts to junk mail. Anyone who posts affiliate marketing may have their account disabled. We take this very seriously.

Imagine if I came on the forums every week announcing sales and new products, and used my affiliate code link - wouldn't that be wrong? Wouldn't you be like "what is that about?" - so even our EF affiliates, don't do it. It's bad form.

We will remove any future threads of this kind. This one is being left as an example.
