I'm interested in starting up a couple blogs, but I'm not even sure where to begin!

Where's the best place to start a blog? I've heard of a few different places, but am unsure of what to choose. I would like to make one about my regular day to day life, and I would like one dedicated more to Eden and more to 'adult' topics. If someone could steer me in the right direction, that would be awesome!

There are all kinds of different outlets for blogs.


Each has their own pros and cons. I use tumblr and blogger. Others rely on wordpress.


All 3 of them will let you post adult stuff, if you label your page correctly!

Now, that being said.. what are you wanting- a more multimedia (pics, videos, text) blog, or primarily text and pictures?

It depends really are you wanting free hosting? If yes, your personal blog you can rarely go wrong with wordpress. Warning though, you cannot post any affiliate links on wordpress free sites. You can have a modicum of adult content, but I'd keep it more sterile just in case. And if you are going to blog about adult topics it's best to have a disclaimer toward the top of your page. "If you're not 18 leave yadda yadda yadda"

For your other page, if you want free hosting blogspot is great fun. You can have affiliate links, or so I understand. They also have a splash page if you label yours as adult oriented.

Blogging is fabulously fun and sharing is fairly easy with the share widgets. Just be sure when sharing your blog that you also share other works on sites like Reddit. They say 10:1 ratio of other writing you found interesting to your personal site.

If you plan on doing it long term, go self hosting. WordPress allows for a lot more customization than Blogger and the sites generally have a better appearance. As mentioned, the free WP option doesn't allow affiliate links which can pose a problem down the line.

I started with Blogger and got frustrated with the layout. I couldn't tweak it the way I wanted and it didn't have much I could add to make it better. WP has thousands of plugins available to make your site do just about anything you want. The switch over was a royal pain, thus why I say to just start out self hosted.

Another thing is that people will take you more seriously if you a . com rather than blogspot . whatever. If you want to get sponsored by companies that makes a big difference.
