So, I have a livejournal, but that's a personal thing. I want to do a biweekly sex blog, but here's the thing: What format should I use? Wordpress? Blogspot? Livejournal since it's been my trusty companion?

What formats do you use, that looks professional but fun, and that I could possibly put banners of edenfantasy on? I want something with little to no censorship, too.

Well, I'm not sure about LJ's terms of service regarding ads and adult content but Blogger and Wordpress free accounts would probably do the trick for you. Out of the box themes from WP look more professional to me but a lot of the folks here have Blogger blogs and they look great!

Go wordpress. It's sooo much easier to transfer over if you ever decide to do your own hosting.

I just started my blog-not-for-actual-fl esh-acquaintances-to-r ead like... an hour ago.... on blogger (link). Wordpress has a pretty good rep, but I'm familiar with Blogger, and it's only gotten better since it linked up with Google. If you use Blogspot, you can put up a mature content warning, and it's easy to add widgets/clone your little contributor box using Google Gadgets. Super helpful if you're not that HTML-savvy, like me

Wordpress had widgets, too.

I want to use Wordpress, but it costs money to have a custom layout... And being a college student, I'd rather be spending that little spare cash on toys than something I can do for free on Blogger.

Someday...

You can learn how to modify it yourself. There are lots of themes already that you can apply or tweak, and if you host it yourself you can definitely modify it more heavily. Not sure about the wordpress.org accounts.

It's not that difficult though. If you do ever get a little extra cash I could put something together for you based on your budget.

I know HTML, CSS, and a little bit of other editing scripts. Making websites and whatnot is no problem. However, it costs $15 a year I think to be able to do that on Wordpress... I'd rather not pay.

So I'm stuck with Blogger until then.

Yea, $15 a year for custom stuff on wordpress.com. Hosting it yourself won't get that cheap though. Too bad.

Maybe if you had a friend that already had their own website that would let you latch on to hosting for free until you ate up too much traffic.

Good luck to both you and bodymodboy.

Haha... I used to piggyback my (extremely short-lived) webcomic on my friend's graphic design website. It worked out pretty well, actually. I got some of her traffic, and her usual visitors liked having something new to look at. If you can figure out a symbiotic relationship, you can usually negotiate something with friends.

I get my hosting thru asmallorange for $25 a year - which is pretty cheap. I can get anyone who might be interested a discount code, too.
