Some businesses that MUST be open, are...hospitals, gas stations, etc. Many retail outlets, however, are saying "BIG 4th of July Sale", so I know they will be open too. So WHO is off that day? (Besides Government and Bank workers???).
Since the 4th of July is midweek this year, do YOU have the day off???

I am going in on Mon. & Tue but will close my business down for the rest of the week. My customers are already aware of this, I have ads on the radio and newspapers to let others know. 4th of July is my favorite holiday--and I do take advantage of that!!!

I'm working an evening shift. I'm not too worried about it. I had a nice 4th last year and would just rather get paid extra

I don't start work until July 23rd, so yes I have it off. However if I was working for my company already I think I'd have it off too.
06/24/2012
Other. From the US, moved to Canada but I'm not working now nor will I be on the 4th of July most likely, so I'm going to be "off" lol
06/24/2012
My store is open but that is my scheduled day off anyways. Yay!
06/24/2012
I am unsure. I am new to my company and not sure if that is one of our holidays.
06/24/2012
I am off!
06/24/2012
I do in home care. I should be working but the woman I work for will let me take the week off, as long as I have everything done before my shift ends on the thursday before the 4th.
06/24/2012
I have nothing to be off from and I will not be busy.
06/24/2012
My wife and I are both off. I wonder what they have planned for my son who is at boot-camp? I'm hoping they make it very special for all the young Airmen.

I work the day before and after.
06/24/2012
I am off the 4th, 5th, and 6th mini vacation
06/24/2012
Visiting family, so not really a vacation, and not really work.
06/24/2012
Holiday overtime = $$$
06/24/2012
No work.
06/24/2012
I have a choice! If I choose to work on that day, I get 1.5x my usual hourly wage plus nice generous holiday tips. It's not required though, we have plenty of willing people to fill those shifts.
06/24/2012
I do! I'm very excited. I work for a company that hosts international students, and it's tradition that we all get the day off so that the kids can get their fill of our "national day".

wdanas
Nope, have it off.
06/24/2012
I am off but my fiance works. We have a party in the evening, so he usually comes home freshens up and helps with last minute prep or catches a nap if there is time.
06/25/2012
Just because it's a Wednesday, doesn't mean it's not a holiday!
06/25/2012
Yes I have it off. But Tuesday/Wednesday are my days off overall.
06/25/2012
I'm not working, but it's one of my normal days off. If it happened to fall on one of my normal work days, I would just work the day and get holiday pay.
06/26/2012
It's one of my normal days off as well.

I am probably going to shut my business down for atleast part of the week considering if I stay open most of my clients are off so I really wouldent be making anything anyway.
