Since the 4th of July is midweek this year, do YOU have the day off???

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
Some businesses that MUST be open, are...hospitals, gas stations, etc. Many retail outlets, however, are saying "BIG 4th of July Sale", so I know they will be open too. So WHO is off that day? (Besides Government and Bank workers???).

I am going in on Mon. & Tue but will close my business down for the rest of the week. My customers are already aware of this, I have ads on the radio and newspapers to let others know. 4th of July is my favorite holiday--and I do take advantage of that!!!

I'm working an evening shift. I'm not too worried about it. I had a nice 4th last year and would just rather get paid extra

I live in Canada so we get Canada Day as the holiday here. That's why I chose other.

I don't start work until July 23rd, so yes I have it off. However if I was working for my company already I think I'd have it off too.

I do in home care. I should be working but the woman I work for will let me take the week off, as long as I have everything done before my shift ends on the thursday before the 4th.

My wife and I are both off. I wonder what they have planned for my son who is at boot-camp? I'm hoping they make it very special for all the young Airmen.

I have a choice! If I choose to work on that day, I get 1.5x my usual hourly wage plus nice generous holiday tips. It's not required though, we have plenty of willing people to fill those shifts.

I do! I'm very excited. I work for a company that hosts international students, and it's tradition that we all get the day off so that the kids can get their fill of our "national day".

I am off but my fiance works. We have a party in the evening, so he usually comes home freshens up and helps with last minute prep or catches a nap if there is time.

Just because it's a Wednesday, doesn't mean it's not a holiday!

I'm not working, but it's one of my normal days off. If it happened to fall on one of my normal work days, I would just work the day and get holiday pay.

I am probably going to shut my business down for atleast part of the week considering if I stay open most of my clients are off so I really wouldent be making anything anyway.
