Are you talking more along the lines of sex toys, or just a gift in general?
What type of things is he into? Does he like games, or sports, or hunting or something?
And is there a certain amount of money you are looking to spend or limited to?

Yeah, there are a wide variety of things you could go with. It's hard to say without some more info. Plus, every spouse is different. I know I'm happy as long as I can get some one-on-one time with my wife for our anniversary. Doesn't have to be sex (although that's usually the case). Just so we're together. Going to baseball games together are always fun for us.
Congrats on your anniversary by the way!

First of all, congrats! And secondly, I would suggest something that he has been talking about for awhile but hasn't had the chance to purchase.

Congrats!! Probably some alone time with him to enjoy each other and reconnect. However you can do that - at home or out of home... 8 years! Hope you have many more!

Oh haha then "something bronze" or "something made of linen or lace" are the typical 8 year gifts

Now, since you didn't give us any info at all, and made an extremely vague post, I'm just going to say what I do and what I would do.
I don't buy my partner sex toys. He's male and has no interest in them. As a small random gift, I've bought him things like shaving cream (Max of course!) cologne, clothing, knife, sunglasses.
As a big anniversary thing, if I was looking to buy him something sexual, depending on OUR preferences, I'd go with something like light BDSM items or the sex swing. I've actually bought the sex swing and things like door cuffs, door swing, under the bed restraints, handcuffs, etc. Those are fun, but for a really big occasion, I like to buy him something more useful. Something he can use outside the bedroom as well, but I love to throw in something dirty too!
It completely depends on the person's preferences and how large of a gift you're going for. My partner loves to fish (blah!) so fishin' gear would make his day. Like I said, we don't know your partner and you gave us nothing to go by, so it's hard to say. Maybe some of these ideas others have posted will spark a good idea though.

Nothing but love. So cheap!

I'm thinking this year a Tenga egg and then use it in the back row of a less-populated theater.
