Disney Cruise sounds ideal; but if I were you, I'll wait two or three more years before taking your child on a cruise with you -- when he/she's old enough to understand and participate in all the fun activities.

Yeah, I really just see that as being a huge hassle. Leave the kid with grandparents/aunts/unc les?

If you only have one, and you go into with the mindset that it is a family vacation, which limits your time as a couple, I think it would be a lot of fun. I've heard great things about Disney Cruises. We have had lots of fun traveling with the kids, but it isn't the relaxing vacations of pre-kid time!

Sarah! Come on our Disney cruise next October! It will be our first dcl and our dd's first cruise ever! She will be 2 wks shy of her 4th bday! MSG me and we can chat about it! We love vacationing with our dd and have brought her to Disney every six months since she was 12.5 months old.

I have done Disney three times with our kids and love them. I have cruised three other cruise lines and none compare to Disney. I would suggest not taking them until they are four. They will understand it more then and to see their face is priceless. I am not a fan of the over marketing of Disney theme parks but love the cruise line.

Cruises are a lot of people, bunched together. Great for adults, not so for toddlers. Really, younger then a preteen, it is not the ideal place for a small child, really. It will make you have less fun and the child isn't going to "get it" at all.

I agree. Four or five is a good age. They even have creative activities and parades geared to those ages.

YIKES! That sounds like a handful!

I went on a Disney cruise, though - and they are PERFECT for toddlers! If you pick any, definitely choose that one
