When my daughter was younger I use to begin shopping at the end of July for her Christmas gifts. Being a single mom it was difficult to get everything she wanted but I did purchase some of the things she wanted. So how early do you shop for Christmas gifts?

I tend to make a lot of gifts throughout the year, so I start early. The gifts I do buy I usually buy in November or early/mid December.

Whenever I find anything I think would be great for the recipient, I get it. I'm usually done early.

I don't really have a lot of people to Christmas shop for (only my mother)... so whenever I have the money and find whatever it is she wants, that's when I get it.

I decided a few years ago to stop celebrating holidays until we a kid. It's looking like that will never happen, so I don't expect to ever celebrate Christmas again. This year I do have a bunch of stuff I've gotten to review for my blog so I'm giving it all away to family. So other than dinner for my hubby, our Christmas is going to be completely free.

All year! I am constantly buying presents for people. I save them up, wrap them when the time is right, and then hand them out all at once during the holidays! People marvel at how I could have possibly managed to afford all of it, but really I just spend small amounts of money every week or so.

We don't have a set "start by" date, but we do start early. Usually it's along the lines of seeing something in the store and thinking "He'll love that! Let's get it." Spreading out the shopping definitely helps out financially.

I sort of have a "buy gifts when I see them" policy. But then I usually give them to the person instead of saving for whatever occasion. It's become a problem. I need to start not giving out gifts at random times but save them for when I will need a gift!

Normally I shop last minute, but this year I've already started getting ideas -- like 2 weeks ago. I've came up with a few, and actually just worked on a clutch purse I'm making as a gift a couple hours ago. I've managed to obtain fabric that fits all my female loved ones' personalities (one has the most adorable cats all over it! One says "I love my cat" in rainbow, etc) and am working on sewing up a cute little pleated purse for each. I'll add more later.

Christmas is so hectic! Especially when you have a big family like me. The worst thing about it is ALL the kids have birthdays back to back, really. On of the boys just turned 13 today, the other turned 14 only 3 weeks ago and then we have the girls -- 7 year old's B-day is this month too! Just like her brother's who's was today, then my youngest neice who we've keep part time has her 3rd B-day in Nov! Whew! It is so stressful.

I do hope to do some shopping early this year or else I'll be a stressed out mess from now up until Christmas and that's always hard.

What ever happened to Christmas being about baby Jesus for pete's sake!? I miss those days. Lol.
