We always hang candy canes on the tree. Any children who visit during the month take one home. Sometimes I buy several boxes of different flavors. This year they are all standard red/white peppermint candy canes.
Do you hang any real food (candy, popcorn) on your Christmas Tree?

Not this year! We recently got a new dog, a german shephard, and I don't doubt that she would take down the tree to eat whatever was on it. Usually I would put candy canes since our other dog, who we have had for years, is too short to realize they are there.

We've got candy canes on ours.

There are candy canes on ours...popcorn just takes too long to string, and I dislike poking my fingers repeatedly with a needle.

We have Smarties flavored candy canes. Damn cat keeps trying to take them down and eat them, though.

We just have some Jelly Belly candy canes in ours. I used to string popcorn and cranberries and put them on the pine trees in my mom's yard for birds to eat.

My one grandmother always hangs wrapped candy canes. Various flavors and all that jazz.

When my sister and I were little, we loved stringing popcorn (and eating it too).. but haven't done it in ages!

sometimes we put candy canes on our tree. but we do not have any this year.

...aside from candy canes we can't because of our dog. He's really playful so he'd probably topple the whole darn tree just to play with and eat popcorn strings.

We always put a variety of candy canes up, kind of a guessing game for everyone to pick one. I always buy them so know what's what, but won't ever tell. Last year I got ones that had cute disney ornaments attached to them for my son, niece, and nephew.
