Do you have a NEW YEARS EVE or NEW YEARS DAY, food or drink "tradition"?

We don't really dig champagne, so that has never been a biggie for us on New Years, but we always seem to be eating Chinese Food....so I guess that is OUR "New Years" food tradition.

How about yours?

I used to with my parents. We stayed up eating popcorn and snacks playing Scrabble and Yahtzee. I really liked that tradition and I wish that I could carry that on, but it's hard when no one else wants to do it.

I don't really have any drinks, though... but I'd be willing to start a tradition.

Chinese as well, although the few after I kicked my husband out was vegan and red wine. This year is still up in the air, although my mother wants me to make my three-bean chili for the family. I think I'm transitioning on traditional foods at the moment.

I am glad that when I kicked my ex out, that also meant I didn't have to make those damned black-eyed peas on NYD. Despite how shitty each year turned out, he still ate them on New Year's Day to bring good luck.

Steamed crabs, shrimp coctail, and alcohol for us! He likes Steele Reserve and I drink it up with some girly-girl drinks like wine coolers
