Do you make a big deal over your own birthday?

Just curious how many people have big celebrations for their birthday. As I get older, the excitement of my own birthday kinda fades lol
I barely even remember how old I am, and I am only 27. No wait 28.

a friend taught me a few years back to make it a big deal for myself. to treat myself, and ensure by myself that it will be a great day. instead of depending on others to do great things for you, it's best to go out, buy YOURSELF presents, throw YOURSELF a big god damn party, and get ridiculous.

because you deserve it.

I had an ex that always used to make a big deal about my birthday, and that was really sweet, but after that ended I seem to have gotten lazy about making a big thing of it myself. =P I'll normally just buy myself something nice, and maybe pick a place to go out to eat instead of cooking dinner.

I usually take the day off work, but otherwise just go with the flow.

I used to, but after hitting all the good ages (16, 18, 20, 12) there is nothing really exciting until 50.

I don't celebrate it anymore. But I do buy something nice for myself. It's nice to splurge once in a while.

Most of the time it is just another day, but if I need to be with my friends and celebrate the survival of another year, I call them and set it up myself. I don't expect them to remember and plan it for me.

My birthday is my FAVORITE holiday. I make a huge deal every single time. Why not? It's the one day a year that people celebrate the mere fact that I exist.

No not really. I mean, if someone wants to do something for me; awesome. but if not no big deal.

For me it's mostly not much of a big deal, though if I could I might go out with a few of my besties and actually celebrate.
But one lives down in CT and the other lives way down in AL so such festivities are a little out of the question right now.
We usually just get Taco Bell and a cake, and my mom gives me about 20$ to spend on craft supplies or something.

I'm sort of in the meh category... I'll be mad if no one says anything or my partner doesn't get me anything, but I don't need a giant party. A little acknowledgement is nice, though.

Nope, I don't tend to make a big deal out of it. But forget my birthday and then I will...LOL

My birthday? It's not such a big deal for me. I actually prefer a quiet day at home...and some extra good birthday lovin with my wife.
