EdenFantasys Home Party?

Contributor: Darling Jen Darling Jen
I know this is something we've been throwing around for a while here on the forum and we're all intrigued, curious, and wanting to try. But now that I've become a lot more open about what I do for the site with friends and even coworkers, I'm starting to think that not only would an EdenFantasys Party be fun, but it'd be educational!

1. One of my friends, who is no stranger to sex toys, has only ever owned jelly and rubber and didn't understand the risks. She also had no idea how to properly care for her toys or that there are other material options!

2. Another new friend of mine at work confided in me that she's only ever own one toy. I know, it's shocking to most of us. That and she really isn't thrilled with it and she assumed they were all like that.

3. A coworker of mine I only recently befriended told me she's never owned one - ever. Ok, she takes the cake for most shocking (at least to us). Her knowledge was completely zip, null, zero, zilch. She told me that she had to wait for her man to be available in order to enjoy sexual activities. Uhhh, no. Your pleasure and sexual expression shouldn't be dependent on anyone but yourself, in my opinion. You can have toys and still be monogamous and happy in your relationship.

4. And now that another friend overheard me once, she's been whispering to me how curious she is and she's most definitely interested in this secret and taboo world.

Soooo, now I'm honestly thinking of throwing an unofficial EdenFantasys Sex Party. Not only to spread the love of sexual expression but knowledge IS power! So then today I saw this article: And Then I Threw A Sex Party and feel inspired!

So I don't think EdenFantasys has an official sex party system or anything, but wanted to know what everyone's opinions were. What should I make sure to include? What fun activities or props would lighten everyone's nerves that's attending? I'll definitely pull out my few SexIs magazines, I'm getting some affiliate flyers soon, and I'll be washing all of my (non-porous) toys to a sparkle to have on display, and even pull up the website on the TV to walk through it.

And most of all, should I do it???

Whats stopping you?

I think it would be great, I hear all the time how crappy those "other" toy party can be. I think it would be a great way to spread good info on toys/materials and be a great way to expand the community here.

I like your idea on bringing up the site and giving them a tour. I also think that any of you non-porous toys to "Show and Tell" is an awesome idea as well. Maybe to go along with the Sexis mag's and affiliate flyers you could give out some gag gifts just to lighten the mood. Maybe some of the games, like Pin the Macho on the Man, could be fun as well.

Great idea Jen, I hope you go through with it and look forward to hearing how it goes.

That's awesome. I'm still waiting to hear from Gary on this *ahem...clears throat LOUDLY... ahem* (Trying my hand at subtlety... HA!)

Actually I would imagine that much of the delay has to do with so many of the changes that has gone on at EF, but but it's definitely something that I've been in conversation with them about.

I would recommend that even though you're sterilizing your toys to make them safe for touch by others that you inform them that these are your personal toys that you've sterilized, making them safe for them to check out. It would be a good introduction into safety issues with other materials, etc.

ALSO, the hostess at the party I just went to had a set of Alphabet cards, and the goal was when she flipped it that participants would either scream out body parts, articles of clothing, etc. The one with the most cards won a prize. I think it was arousal gel, so I'm pretty glad I DIDN'T win... anyway....

Thanks, you two! And honestly, there are only two things giving me pause about the party. I want to make sure it's ok with EdenFantasys to use their name at the party, especially considering I'm not exactly a paid sponsor or anything. Also, it'll be rather costly for me to host the party (and I am seriously dead broke) so I'm definitely curious if I can get a few donated items to give out as prizes.

I LOVE the pin the macho on the man idea! I was laughing my ass off when I read Kayla's review of the product. I was coming up with some other games too that would result in a few door prizes. And gag gifts are also an amazing idea!

I so really want to do this party and I definitely know I already have interested participants. Now to get it off the ground...

I say do it. I am doing one in two weeks. I am bringing my huge trunks of toys as demonstrations. I bought dozens of toys for them to take home. I have samples, games, and such. You really don't need much at all. They can order right off the site. My party is currently for 12 people. A good friend of mine asked me to do one. I explained to her that Eden isn't set up for that, I originally said no. Then I realized that I have more than enough resources to pull it off. It took 3 weeks to prepare and now I am ready. I'll let ya know how it goes.

I would go through the categories of toys on the site and make sure you touch on each of the major ones, try to have a toy from each.

This is actually something I have been thinking about for a while. I thought about just getting people together. explaining the diffences in materials and what not. showing them what real toys feel like. and what a HUGE price difference there is. Even after 15$ shipping up here to Canada it is still often times anywhere from 10-40$ cheaper than buying from a store here or a home party place. For example, EF has the wevibe listed at 89.99 and from the home party places here you pay 129.95! mental right?

So i figured if i had a laptop set up, show them stuff, help them place an order and blammo! (and give them my affiliate code to place the order with for a cool 15% discount of course)

Well, I definitely don't have hundreds of toys yet to pull out like some do. But I think I do have a good variety of female- or gender-neutral designed toys. What I'm considering ordering (or asking for) are some gag gifts, games, or couple-oriented toys as prizes so that even people without a lot of money can leave with something. Cock rings, sleeves, body paints/oils for example, lubes, etc.

But definitely some good food, wine, funny games, and gag gifts will help relax everyone so it's a really fun party and not just a seminar for safety and how-to's.

I would hope that you'll be the only handling your toys during the party, especially the ones that cannot be thoroughly cleaned or sanitized. Also, I really hope you'll let everyone know that these are your personal toys that have been used.

Go for it, Jen. You can definitely be a great resource for the ignorant.

I imagine at some point that EF will have a home party system in place-- it's just too much of a goldmine to pass up. There are dozens of people on this site that would be excellent hostesses. It is one of the easiest ways to get the EF name out there, and it allows for the EF name to spread like wildfire as the web of those who request to have a party grows with each party.

I think it is an awesome idea! EF is definetly the best out there! I know that when I've gone to sex parties (when I was just getting into the whole idea of sex toys) I was very shy to order. It's nice that they can go home and find what they want without being nervous about it (If they so choose).

First of all Jen, go for it! Home parties were a consideration for EF but somehow hasn't officially happened yet. I have been to home parties put on by others; I was appalled by the junk and prices of the products overall!
My suggestion is not to overwhelm them with too many products. Cover the major bases; lube education and different lube types, let them "feel" the various lubes.
Ans as others have said; sterilize and thoroughly clean all your toys...make them shine! The one girl, I know that does home parties (another company) doesn't bring out her own toys at all. Also the ordering processes really streamlined (order forms) so she can individually assist with each order w/o taking too much time. She also told me that one of her most successful parties was for women over 45, guess they were all friends. The host was 32 and they all loved it!!
Games and prizes are always a hit.
Hopefully, EF will officially sponsor home parties with kits comprising various toys and products. I see it as a win, win for all!1

I do wish I had a bit more impressive collection to pull out to show them. But I figure I have a lot compared to what they're used to right now. And I figure I'll give them the option of being walked through the order process during the party or to go home and do it themselves. Not being pressured I figure makes all the difference. I'm also considering asking them if they're able to donate about $5 each for the party to cover the door prizes I really want to order. And I'm going to stick to non-intimidating ones like massage oil/lube combinations, bullet vibes, candles, finger vibes, etc.

This sounds really cool. I've never been to one but I think it would be fun. Only so many times you can go to a home interior party and not get bored. But with all the new adult toys and great topics the field of sex offers doing parties would be awesome and constantly changing content only leaves room to grow.

Sounds like a really great idea and I'm quite sure you have more knowledge about sex toys and material safety etc than most of the ppl who have hosted parties I've attended.

It would be great if you had some examples of non- body friendly toys to show them. Also like you said you can take along your sterilisable toys & point out that they have been used by you - but that because you have made that investment in quality products made of quality materials they can be sterilised.

You could maybe even play a guess the body safe product style game.

Parties like this would also be awesome for recruiting new reviewers - who isn't going to want to join us here in Eden once they see how awesome it is can't wait to hear how it goes

Now that I've decided to do it, I'm insanely excited! I used the gift card from my last video review and a little saved money to order my "prizes" for the party, I'm gathering my extra SexIs magazines, and even printing out some very useful hand-outs of information based on the guides provided on EdenFantasys.com.

I'm also planning some warm-up, break-the-ice games to get everyone comfortable ready to have some fun. The hardest game, which I entitled "What Goes Where?", is all about their knowledge on toy materials, lubricants, and safety. They'll learn a lot and then the winner gets the first pick of the prizes.

So I'm kind of nervous because this is the most "out" I'll have been (though only 2 of the attendees know my screen-name so it's not like they're going to product stalk me). But I'm also so pumped up about it! It'll be a fun night with the girls.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for this, Jen.

It can certainly be unnerving to let people in on your sexual intricacies, but being open and not caring about how people view you is exceptionally liberating.

Have fun!

I'd love to throw one myself, but I have very few friends who would be interested. A lot of them are more repulsed by the idea of toys than intrigued unfortunately .

They doth protest too much, methinks. Those are definitely the types of people who could most benefit from them and are usually just carrying shame from their secret curiosity about them. But it's definitely hard to pull them out of that viscious cycle once they start it.

Some of my friends right now see it as cute or fun in a silly way. In the way most of us saw them at some point walking through Spencer's and giggling at the cheap, usually gag-intended products. But the lack of respect is usually born of ignorant to the fabulousness or, again, shame. I seek to enlighten any who are brave enough to RSVP to my party. I'm hoping for 5 attendees outside of myself, give or take. I'll keep everyone posted! But I do have one friend that went from merely giggling at the concept to letting me host this at her home! I use the website Houseparty.com, and just a few weeks ago was picked to host a Durex party. They sent me games and stuff to play, but they weren't any good ones, but they sent little samplings of lube and things like that. I had a few "group" games to play I had bought from EF (it was a bunch of couples over) Since the party was focused on "wegasm" I made sure to point out EF and all the diff. lubes and vibes, a lot of my friends had NO idea there was such a selection of toys/lubes/condoms.

I think an EF party would be AMAZING! You should Def. throw one!

This is a great idea!

I have been to quite a few toy parties recently and have been very disappointed, especially after coming here. NONE of the hostesses ever covered material safety, the different types of lube. Most of the time they had very little variety. Most of the toys that they showcased were of a very low quality and the ones that weren't were intended mainly for use by couples. Just not a lot of variety at all. I say spend more time actually educating people about sex toys, than playing all of the games that are usually played at these parties. Not that games are a bad thing, but take your time with the rest of it. These parties should last far longer than they usually do, especially if you want to be thorough.

I wish you the best of luck if you decide to do this!

Go for it! Keep us all updated, I do parties with Athena's and honestly they're not bad. Most of their stuff focuses on how to use the items but I try and gear more towards safety and materials. Though if EF got up and running a home toy party thing I'd drop Athena's in a heatbeat! I love EF!
