It's December 5th. Are you done with most of your "holiday shopping"?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
To my amazement, a news report this morning said that a "man in the street" survey of shoppers in three cities showed more people were done with their 2013 shopping spree then ever before, this early in the year.

How about you?

Isn't that what Black Friday is for ? Some of the people I know like to get it done early and do most of it on Black Friday weekend. We are last minute shoppers.

I'm all done except for a few odds and ends, and some handmade items which aren't quite done. I like to get it all done early so I can enjoy the sights of the season without that hanging over my head.

I had most of my shopping done by mid november. I have just one last gift to decide on and buy.

I am not a shopper...and it's just me and the hubby so no gift buying is necessary.

We're done! My girl and I only buy gifts for each other, and my father-in-law and mother-in-law. We WOULD do more (little gifts for friends, etc.) but money is tight. It's getting better though, and little gifts will start being picked up come January. ^_^

I've done some of it, but far from all. I'm waiting for my next paycheck before I can finish up, though!

I relax and enjoy the holidays more, stress free, when I know all that stuff is done and wrapped up way, way early.

That is a good policy. Don't charge it...but pay as you go. That too is a stress reliever.

Well, let me take the stress off you. We don't want you sending us anything this year! Good wishes are plenty. There, don't you feel more relieved now?

Yes, but even in those times, I put a bow on my head and maybe add a little cellophane gift wrap, and guess what, he absolutely loves opening his "surprise"!!!!

One last gift to decide on? That's always a tough one....."Rolls Royce or Bently"? "Bently or Rolls"????

Stuff like that can keep you up nights, eh?

I don't like shopping in malls or anything like that so I knocked out a ton of my shopping early-ish on line. Kind of nice to be basically done at this point just a few little things to pick up.

It amazes me that people get their shopping done so early. It doesn't occur to me to think about presents until late November, and I don't buy high end items to make Black Friday chaos be worth it. I could spread buying throughout the year, but I hate storing things and that just feels like buying stuff. It doesn't feel like Christmas shopping to me.

I have just a few friends for gifting. and, it's been that way for a few years. I make my selections well before the holiday season.
