I just heard a news poll that said with the economy so bad and fewer people taking real "vacations" that many are increasing "what they do and spend" on three day weekend holidays like Labor Day. Spending on "party items" and "groceries" are higher then in previous years.

SO...are YOU just "hanging out" this year or do you have "special plans" like going to a group cookout or holding one of your own....or other "three day fun" events like a short "mini vacation" get-away?

New Year's, Memorial Day and Labor Day are three "holidays" where I don't participate. If we cook out, it's coincidental. NYE is for noobs and the other two lost their meanings decades ago.

Probably gonna stay home with a stack of blurays. Maybe Ill cook us some burgers or something. But my boyfriend isnt working shockingly so itll just be nice to spend some quality time together.

i probably am going to stay home and do boring homework. i have the money to go to say, Atlantic city for a few days but with school being a major hang up in my life right now, it's not going to happen. it's kind of lame

I went out with my guy to a dinner at a sit down place where you can order great subs and sandwiches, and just spending time together. He is playing video games while I am on here then, maybe some "us" time later

I drove ten hours down to Florida on Thursday just to hang out with my boyfriend, and I'll drive back up Monday. The drive is totally worth being with him, swimming in the pool, watching Doctor Who and sleeping in every morning. My kinda of vacation!

I might be getting to see Cyn for the first time since the end of June. We've got some talking to do that I'm not really looking forward too.

Otherwise, I don't care much for labor day. I agree with ~Stormy~, it's not now what it was meant to be then, given how business has changed. I want my mail dammit!
