Oh Halloween, if you have chldren, do you do the old fashioned "trick or treat" or do you go to "events"

Seems more and more "formal" events are planned every year...like at schools, malls or just neighborhoods.

Do you do these "formal events" or just do the old "door to door" thing?

I still stay home and pass out candy. I like seeing my neighbors. However every year van loads of kids from different neighborhoods come trick or treat in my neighborhood, and that I have mixed feelings about. I dont mind the little kids, but I find my self resenting the older rowdy bunches of kids.

I'm taking my niece trick or treating around her neighborhood, but in the past we've done a trick or treat thing at church where you decorate your car and the kids go around the parking lot which was fun too.

Go out or to a party. When I have a child, I'll gladly take them out! I wanted to go with my friend last year since her daughter was old enough to get it but when she asked the little girl, she said she wanted to stay home, lol.

both!I bring my kids out but only in the neighborhood where I know everyone(about 2 blocks) then we go to events. Its hard because it can be so unsafe now days to actually trick or treat.

I love taking my kids out for trick or treating. They enjoy it and I know that someday they will think they're too old for it so I might as well take it all in while I still can.

We do both! I like that there are fun things to do for the week or two leading up to Halloween, and then actual trick-or-treating on the day of.
